    Jurassic Park IV:Hostile Territory
    By Carnage142

    CH 2.The Plan

    San Diego, California

Henry quickly paid the cab driver and rushed out of the cab into the pouring rain. It started raining just as he left his apartment. He knew that today was already going to be bad and the rain didn’t help it any.
He stepped into the empty lobby of the INGEN building. He had only been outside for a few seconds but that was enough to soak him. This had better been one hell of accident on the island to drag him out of bed and not just another worker who wondered to far into the park.
Workers were getting killed all the time in the park. One time one of the vets was running tests on the adult rex that was supposedly sedated. Well the rex was awake enough to bite down on the vet when he got to near the jaws. Then there were raptors. Those damn things were always getting out and when ever they did someone always got attacked.
He pushed the up button on the elevator and waited for one to arrive. He watched the floors light up in reverse order till it got to the lobby. The doors opened and there was Ed standing inside.
“Henry, good you’re here. I was just coming down to wait for you.” He said.
“What the hell is all this about?” He asked getting the elevator.
Ed pushed floor twelve. “There was an accident in the park.”
“That’s no surprise Ed. We have accidents all the time.”
    “Not like this we don’t.”
    “Like what?”
The elevator doors opened on twelfth floor and Ed hurried out followed by Henry. They went into Ed’s office.
“Take a seat.” He said pulling up a chair.
    “Thank you, I’ll stand.”
“We didn’t just have an accident Henry; it was a major fuck up. The word accident doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of this one.”
“Ok, I get it, the situation is serious so will you tell me what the hell happened already?”
“Remember we had the visitors on the island day before yesterday? You met them briefly.”
“Yeah, Alan Grant and the others were taking a tour.”
“Yeah well the tour ended real quick and several people were killed.”
“How?” He asked not appearing to be worried.
“We’re not to sure but we think Nedry was trying to get embryos off the island and in doing so shut down the park fences and all the dinosaurs got out of their pens, including the raptors.
“What? Wait, do you that that the-“
“No.” Ed interrupted. “Their pen has their own power supply and besides Nedry didn’t even know about it.”
    “Thank god.”
“It doesn’t end there. Generro, the lawyer was killed so was Muldon, Mr. Arnold, we think Nedry, and Ian Malcom was hurt badly.”
“Is that it?” Henry asked expecting there to be something more.
“What do you mean is that it? I just told you three people were dead and the dinosaurs are loose in the park.”
“It’s not the fist time something like this has happened. Just have Drake come over from Sorna and round the animals up.”
“I’m afraid it’s not that easy this time. Dr. Grant and company told the Costa Rican government the whole story as soon as the arrived on the mainland.”
“What!” He yelled. “Didn’t you make them sign a nondisclosure agreement?”
“Yes we did but unlike some people they probably took the deaths of those people seriously.”
“Don’t give me that bullshit, Ed.”
“And now the Costa Rican government is pissed and has sealed off the island to anyone and everyone including us.”
    “Can they do that?”
“Well they did. They are claiming that they had no idea those animals were on the island and that they are a biological hazard.”
“This is ridiculous they can’t seal off the island.” Henry begins to pace around and mumble to himself as he tends to do when he gets upset.
“Henry, they are going to destroy the island.”
Henry stopped and turned towards Ed. “Ed all of my work is on that island and there are embryos there that aren’t on Sorna.”
“I know and so does Hammond.”
“Ed, we have to get my work off before it’s destroyed.”
“I was afraid you were going to say that. Hammond wants you and Dr. Reed to collect you work from Nublar and get off before it happens.
    “Alone?”
“No, Hammond is going to have Drake and Owens go with you.”
“How are we getting on if the island is sealed off?”
“I’m leaving that to Drake he seems to have a knack for getting in and out of sticky situations.”
    “When do we leave?”
“Right now, I’ve already talked to Dr. Reed and she’s going to meet you at the airport where Hammond’s jet will take you to Sorna to pick up Drake and Owens and from then on you’re in Drakes hands.”
    “Gee I feel safe already.”
    Henry begins to walk out.
“Oh Henry, you only have about seventy-two hours and they are going to destroy it with you either on it or not.
Henry doesn’t respond. He just turns and walks out.
“Asshole” He said to himself as Henry shut the door.
The phone rings and Ed answers.
“Yes sir he just left. I told him everything. He’s on his way to the airport.”
    He listens.
“But sir I don’t really see the point.”
    He listens.
“Yes sir I’ll be on the plane. Yes sir.” He hangs up the phone and sighs. “Shit.”
