NEW! NEW! NEW! Dan's "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" Page message board!!! That's right, now you have a forum to place your thoughts, comments, and rants! Click here and join the discussion!!!!

Krunker418 sent along a cover picture of the April issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. He also adds that "they show a few Sega Saturn pics (it definitely won't be as good as the Playstation version) and they also said there are no plans for an N64 game." Chris Baker adds that the article mentions that there will be "hundreds of Compys" in the movie.

The Internet Movie Database has just updated its JP2 page...most of the stuff they changed we already know, although they say Pete Postlewaite will be playing Roland, Richard Schiff will be playing "Howard King" (which is probably wrong), Thomas F. Duffy will be playing "George Baselton", and Harvey Jason will be playing "Diego". Also, "Lewis Dodgson" is listed as being played by Cameron Thor. (thanks to Drew Welsh)

If you were wondering how Ryan Salmon got the access codes to the secret areas, look in Hammond's filing cabinet, then click on "Access Codes".

Have you signed up for my mailing list yet?!? You can get the latest JP2 news headlines delivered to your personal e-mail box, everyday, as soon as I update my page!

The mailing list has returned!! Now that I can run cgi scripts on my server and my awesome Perl skills, I have a new mailing list. With this new list, you'll actually get the message when I update the page, and not at 3 in the morning. Anyway, it works now, but if you were on the old list, you'll have to sign up again. Sorry. Now onto the news.......

The article in Gamepro magazine was actually about the JP2 Playstation game (and not the N64), and thanks to Krunker418, we now have some pictures from the story: (here are a few, the rest are in the media gallery)

Two pictures from the upcoming Playstation video game

A 20,000 square foot "JP2 entertainment exhibit" will premier at the American Museum of Natural History in New York following the release of the movie and then spend the next two years touring international museums. Fans of the origional movie might be intersted to know that the company producing this exhibit is the same one that made the excellent "Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park". (from a press release)

Am I the only one who didn't put two and two together and realize that Sarah Harding (from the second book/movie) is related to Dr. Harding (from the first book/movie)?! As Katie pointed out to me, this "[would] lead to all sorts of interesting questions, like 'How did Sarah not know about her father going to Jurassic Park?', and 'Will this play into the movie?" It also means that Malcolm's girlfriend's dad saved his life."

The InGen Intranet System is a section of the Official LW page that I have never really investigated, because I figured it was all old info. However, Ryan Salmon has procured some access codes (no idea how) to certin areas that uncover some potential plot information:

Jason Bennett got a chance to see an advanced showing of Liar, Liar last night, and while he said the movie was good, they unfortunately didn't show the new JP2 trailer (it is reported that the new, longer JP2 trailer would be shown before the movie). I guess we'll have to wait until the movie's full release, March 21st (next Friday) to see it.

There's an article about the JP2 video game for the Sony Playstation in this month's GamePro magazine. (thanks to Jamie Patterson

A new hologram JP2 poster has been spotted in movie theaters by Dan Worthington. He said that while it looked like the regular JP2 poster from one direction, from the other it appeared that the T-Rex was bursting through the JP2 logo. (He bought it from the theater for a paltry $120, but, in my opinion, it's worth it.)

FYI, they're giving away free 56k X2 modems over at the Universal website, one every day for 56 days. You can enter as many times as you want, but only one per day.

The main pages have been updated (3-13) Everything mentioned in the "What's New" section in the last week can now also be found in the main section. Look for the graphics.

Keith Woodland came across an old webpage he had printed out from Universal website, which included a cast list. Included were the names "Jeff Goldblum, Sir Richard Attenborough, Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn, Arliss Howard, Richard Schiff, Pete Postlethwaite, Thomas F. Duffy, Harvey Jason, and Vanessa Lee Chester". Since this list is fairly old, there is a possibility that it may have changed.

Vince Vaughn was on CNN's Showbiz Today today, talking about (of course), The Lost World. In a segment somehow tied into the recent cloning of sheep, Vaughn confirmed that JP2 will be "a more darker movie than Jurassic Park." (Thanks to Joshua Fitch)

Matt Boudreau has just opened a very interesting (and very good, I might add) webpage all about the upcoming movie Sphere. Go check it out here.

An official source from Dreamworks has confirmed that dinosaurs will indeed make it to the mainland in JP2, and that a third movie will be definitely made! You heard it here first! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!

Guess what kids? Everyone's favorite movie rumors site is back on-line! Yes, that's right, Harry Knowles' Ain't It Cool News? is back, with it's own domain, www.aint-it-cool-news.com.

The movie based on the hit Crichton novel, "Sphere", will begin principle photography on March 17 directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Sleepers). The film will star Academy Award-winner Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, Samuel L. Jackson, Peter Coyote, Liev Schreiber, and (get this) Queen Latifah. Read the full press-release here.

Ed Hall sent along an interesting story on how Vince Vaughn got his part in JP2. Supposedly in the movie Swingers, there was a scene where Vaughn was scripted to stalk a woman who happened to be Spielberg's wife, Kate Capshaw. The producers wanted to use the music from Jaws in the scene, and Spielberg was there to give his consent. Well, Spielberg was so impressed with Vaughn that he offered him a role in JP2 on the spot.

If Universal produces JP3, it's quite possible that Steven Spielberg won't direct, according to "Paranormel". Spielberg has said that after JP2, he will only direct for his studio, Dreamworks SKG.

Talking about Spielberg's other projects, filming of the Dreamworks film, "Amistad" has begun in Mystic, Connecticut. "The movie will star Anthony Hopkins and depicts the true story of an 1839 shipboard rebellion by 53 Africans who had been illegally sold into slavery. They were tried for murder in Connecticut and eventually won their freedom after an appeal in the United States Supreme Court. The ship that was transporting them into slavery and then to freedom was named Amistad or 'friendship' in Spanish."

Curtis Bateman caught a glimpse of some JP2 merchandise on his local evening news. One was a hat with a raptor coming out of it, a shirt with the JP2 logo which said "DNA" and "Something has Survived", a fanny pack with the logo, and "lots" of JP2 watches.

Eric seems to think that the person on the right in this picture may actually be Timmy. If you look at it carefully, it does look a little like him--but It's still too dark to say for sure.

I forgot to mention about Thursday's ShoWest Awards on TNT--absolutely nothing was mentioned about JP2, let alone any Universal films. There were some cool previews of "The 5th Element" and "Anaconda", however.

I also forgot to mention about the large list of dinosaur resources that are listed on the Official JP2 website. If you're interested in dinosaurs, click on one of the two bookshelves and check out some of the links.

If I'm not updating my webpage or going to school, I also do a little programming in my spare time. I just finished DSTOCK 2.0, a program that manages stock portfolios, similar to the system they use on AOL. Check it out--here.

The official Trespasser: Jurassic Park webpage (the upcoming JP2 computer game) is now online. Interesting stuff includes: lots of cool new screenshots (the forest shots are simply amazing), an overview of the game itself, and a very amusing look at the design team (Seamus Blackley's favorite PC game is listed as "MS Design Studio"...okaaaay.).

Besides the "Dino-shaped chicken patties" at Burger King to promote the movie's release, Scott Smith has learned that they will also be selling JP2 watches.

Gatsby's Page has a few images of "Trespasser: Jurassic Park from this month's Computer Gaming World. In the Media Gallery

Look for the Topps Comic Book during the first week of May, and the Official Topps Movie Cards about a week before the movie opens. (thanks to Scott Smith)

It's a relatively slow day, JP2 news wise, so I present for your reading pleasure:

THE TOP 25 QUOTES FROM JURASSIC PARK

The very nicely designed official JP2 webpage has been updated! As usual, the really good info is scattered around: My comments: "Living fossil record"? Is it just me, or is this departing totally from the novel? Characters---like I suspected, Dodgson and Levine are most likely gone. It looks like Richard Attenborough looks like he has a fairly large role in the movie.

Okay, I give up! The two kids in the picture on Hammond's Desk are actually Tim and Lex (Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards) from the first movie. They are much older now, which may account for my mistake. Thank you to the approximately 18 people who picked up my grievous error.

The ShoWest Awards, presented by the National Assocociation of Theater Owners, will air on TNT at 10 P.M. EDT tonight. ShoWest will also feature previews of upcoming movies--No official word on whether JP2 will be included, but look for previews for "Batman and Robin" and "Alien 4". (Thanks to Kyle)

Wiserman says that a friend told him that that the attack on San Diego was originally filmed as an actual occurrence, but that it was edited into the movie as a dream, since Spielberg thought it was too over-the-top.

Jonathan Zietz said that a friend caught a glimpse of a new JP2 trailer, which "showed a few different dinosaurs, including a T-rex and a Pteridactal. He also said it didn't show the T-rex attacking the trailer, and that it had a few shots of the land cruiser and Harding and Malcolm." If anyone can confirm this, please e-mail.

Another picture from this weekend's Entertainment Tonight, thanks to Krunker418:

It's a little hard to tell exactly who is in this shot, but I think the guy in the middle is Malcolm, the person on the left is Harding, and the kid (?) on the right is Kelly.

Ed Hall has corrected some information...the articles excepted below are acually from "Sci-Fi Invastion" (with Boba Fett on the cover). The info below has been corrected.

For those that are wondering about the fate of the late webpage, "Ain't It Cool News", the word on the street is that Harry is getting his own domain (www.aint-it-cool-news.com ?) and the page will be up and running soon. I will post more info as I get it.
