Daniel Worthington has generously provided several pictures of some JP2 candy from General Mills and Hershey. The images (there are 11) are too large to put on this page, so they are all located in the media gallery (under "Merchandise"). A sample:

The Hershey's Chocolate Bar, made especially for JP2. Mmmmmmmmm......

According to the "Toyfare forum" on America Online (Keyword: Wizard), Dieter Stark, Roland Tembo, and Peter Ludlow are supposed to be bad guys in JP2. (Thanks to Krunker418)

The Entertainment Tonight episode this weekend supposedly contained a few shots that I do not have a picture of. "[There was] a head shot of Jeff Goldblum and a shot of two Raptors standing side-by-side." Another "[was] a scene with Harding falling though the glass on the trailer." If anyone has this episode on tape and is capable of making images, it would be much appreciated. (thanks to Gatsby's Page and Joshua Fitch)

The new JP2 section in Universal Studio's "Islands of Adventure" theme park (being constructed now--picture in the media gallery) will have a ride named "The Lost World:Jurassic Park:The Ride", a "Camp Jurassic" (a kid's game section), and a learning and education section about dinosaurs. (Gatsby's Page)

Well, I am happy to report that Dan's "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" Page has celebrated it's 20,000th hit! This could not have been accomplished without the help of you, my faithful readers! The upcoming months will be exciting as the movie comes closer to being released and more information becomes available. Thanks again for making this page the best source for JP2 news, info, and rumors on the Net!

Matt Boudreau sent me an explanation for why all these new characters are appearing lately (Dietar Stark, Nick Van Owen, Peter Ludlow). In his opinion, "[Peter] Stormare will play Dietar Stark. It is my belief that Dodgson and Levine will be cut out of the movie (unfortunately...). Neither of them have been mentioned in anything official. We already know, officially, that Hammond organizes the expedition, not Levine as in the book, and Harding is the one who leaves early and becomes trapped on Site B, which was really Levine's other major function in the book. And neither Dodgson nor Cameron Thor has been mentioned in anything official, although "evil hunters" have. Perhaps they could be replacing Dodgson, Baleston and King?".

Matt, I think you raise some very valid points. I've been thinking about the possibility that Dodgson might be cut from the film for awhile, and it makes sense when you think about it--the actor who played him might not be available (he hasn't been in a movie for some time), or he might not be a good enough actor for a large role like Dodgson.

There's a short article in Sci-Fi Invasion about JP2 this month, and thanks to Joshua Fitch we have some excerpts:

Well, I guess that proves that Laura Dern (and probably Sam Neill) isn't in the film. Case closed.

The new issue of US magazine is dedicated to "the new young hollywood stars", Vince Vaughn among them. Another magazine called Sci-Fi Invasion (with Bobba Fett on the cover) has an article about JP2 going up against Star Wars (which I don't think will be a big problem for JP2--everyone will have seen Star Wars by May), as well as an interview with Jeff Goldblum. (Thanks to Ed Hall)

The Cannes Film Festival, where Steven & Co. will be showing off The Lost World for the first time will occur on May 7th-18th. Visit the official "Festival International du Film de Cannes" page.

If you're interested in the upcoming movie, "The Fifth Element", my friend Sean has started his own page dedicated to the new Bruce Willis flick. (Hmm..I wonder where he got the idea of starting his own movie-related webpage : )) Go check it out--here

New Page feature! Clicking on "News Index" up at the top of this page will open an index of all the "What's New!" pages in the left-hand window. For easy access, they are sorted by date.

Daniel Worthington sent me some information about the various JP2 food-stuffs that are coming down the line: Our JP2 candy-man, Dan, promises some pictures tomorrow.

Here are some pictures from last night's Entertainment Tonight, thanks to Krunker418:

A shot of one of the JP2 toys--a remote controlled car with a Dilophosaurus in the back which spits water.

A picture of the "Lost World Fuel Depot" which comes with a Pachycephalosaurus.

A scene from the filming of the movie, with someone about to fall out of trailer that is hanging precariously over a cliff.

Jerry O'Connell might not be in JP2. According to Jonathan Zietz, he saw him on "The Tonight Show" and didn't mention anything about a role in JP2. I know, I know, this doesn't prove anything..but I figured I should mention it.

The character's whose name is Juttison listed in yesterday's list of JP2 toys may have been changed somewhere along the line...perhaps to Peter Ludlow.

This evening's Entertainment Tonight will have a segment on the N.Y. Toy Fair which will show off some of the new JP2 toys. (Thanks to Joey)

More information about this "Dietar Stark" character--this page lists Dietar Stark as being played by Peter Stormare--if this is so, then who will play Levine? (thanks to Matt Boudreau.

There's a rumor going around that says that Sam Neill and Laura Dern will be in JP2--I don't see how this can be possible--I've seen interviews with both of them, and they did not say anything about being in The Lost World. This is most likely a false rumor.

I've never mentioned The Lost World NetForum at the Universal website, because last time I was there, nothing much was going on. Recently, it's become very active, so it has now earned a mention on my webpage : ). Warning: beware of rumors! They abound on this message forum--don't believe anything is the truth unless the person gives a repudiable source.
