Steve is still looking for a buyer for his brand-new official JP2 leather crew jacket. Exactly like the ones worn by the cast and crew, the jacket is already a collector's item. He's asking $500--heck, if I had enough money, I'd buy it.
I just received word that this page has won the "Best of Internet -- Award '96" from www.top.de. Hmm..isn't this 1997? Oh well.
Star Wars tomorrow! Woo Hoo!
Here's the picture from the Newsweek article (see yesterday's news, below): (Thanks to Blake Cooper.):
An e-mail from an anonymous source very close to Universal pictures confirmed that dinosaurs will be wreaking havoc in San Diego.
An short article in Newsweek magazine today had a picture from JP2, along with a short blurb. Excerpts:
By popular demand, I uploaded the .WAV file of the soundtrack to the JP2 trailer. If you want high quality stereo sound, however, you'll have to get the .MP3 file.
Sean O' Grady made a great stereo .MP3 audio file of the commercial (483kb). Play it with the video! To hear this .MP3, you'll need Winplay 3. Interesting fact: the music used in this preview is the same that was used in the preview for the first JP movie. Studios frequently use "stock" music from other movies in trailers because the original score isn't done yet. In this case, the music from Backdraft was used. (Thanks to Kyle).
I took some screenshots from the video and put them up in the media gallery. (now that I have sound + video, it's become "media" woo hoo!). These images are only temporary until I get some higher-quality pics (in the next few days).
It has been confirmed that Hammond will be in JP2. Blake Cooper reports that Richard Attenborough appeared on the FoxNews channel today, and mentioned that he would be "opening and closing The Lost World"
Dinosaurs will be overrunning civilization in JP2. It's been confirmed by Don Ackerman that he noticed that Stan Winston was standing next to Speilberg during the shooting in the streets of Burbank. Obviously, this can only mean that Stan was there to oversee an shot that eventually would contain CGI dinosaurs. It should be said, for the record, that the concept of dinosaurs in civilization was not a part of the original novel.
Thanks to John Mark Nickels for providing some information about a potential JP2 game for the Nintendo 64. Go to the JP2: The Games section for more info.
Watch for the JP2 trailer during tonight's Super Bowl!
According to a Variety news report on Yahoo, look for the trailer of Jurassic Park: The Lost World during the Super Bowl on Sunday!!!!!!!!! Everyone get your VCR's ready! If anyone has video digitizing equipment and wants to make an .AVI or .MOV of the commercial, please do--I will try to make one myself, but it may take a few days... (thanks to Richard Burke for the info)
I added a brand new section to my hierarchy that deals exclusively with the many computer/video games that will be based on The Lost World. Check out "JP2: The Games" from the frame on the left.
Thanks to BiffFoil for some information about the Playstation JP2 game featured in this months issue Electronic Gaming Monthly.
Thanks to Jameson Simmons for the pictures of Michael Lantieri and Richard Schiff. The following people are still pictureless: MR Gopakumar, Thomas Duffy, and Harvey Jason. If you have a picture, please send it along, and you will be credited on my page.
New Trespasser: Jurassic Park Info: Brady Bell, the associate producer at Dreamworks Games sent me an e-mail correcting some information I reported about the new Jurassic Park video games I reported on my page. First of all, the game that I saw in Babbages for the Playstation is a totally different game, not to be confused with Trespasser: Jurassic Park. T:JP is going to be PC only game, released in late '97. He also sent along a screenshot, and promised to keep me updated with new info as it develops:
