    #349
The Simpsons Comics #30 features a parody of JP where Smithers suggest making clones of himself to do work. When the two enter a theater to see a "Mr. DNA" style show on the plan, Burns says, "Oh, goodie, a show! Mayhap it will be a cautionary tale of technology gone awry with spectacular effects and paper thin characters!" (From: Green Mamba)

    Potter Heads For the Records
Here Comes Harry Potter is the title of an article over at E! Online reporting on some record breaking numbers, first concerning the number of screens HP will be opening on: "[Potter will be] zooming into an unprecedented 3,672 theaters nationwide, which will unspool the film on more than 8,200 screens beginning Friday. (There are about 36,000 screens across the country.)" While we won't know how much Potter will garner at the box office until next week, obviously, some say it's already set to break the 3-day weekend record currently held by The Lost World: Jurassic Park. That film made $72.1 million in 1997; some are predicting Potter will take in over $80 million.

    Harry Glasses at Lenscrafters
Wow, for the first time in my life I wish I wore glasses: Lens Crafters has unveiled their line of Harry Potter eye glasses (or 'spectacles' for you Brits). Retailing for $100, the glasses are available in various Harry styles that "incorporate different Harry Potter elements from the story lines, including glow-in-the-dark Golden Snitches, lightning bolt logos, or movable temples." Each pair comes with a "unique eyeglass case as a gift with purchase". You can find them at your local Lenscrafters store, and presumably, you actually need a prescription from your eye doctor to buy 'em.

    Review Roundup
Potter reviews are coming in fast and furious now -- Rottentomatoes.com is the best place to make sure you're up on the latest opinions. So far, with 38 reviews counted, Potter has a 79% "fresh" rating. Film buffs should check out the review from The New Yorker for some high-falutin comments and criticisms (the reviewer mostly likes the film however).

    HP Video Clips
Probably the coolest online feature on Potter comes from our buds over at Countingdown.com, who has posted no less than 13 video clips from the film. These are the clips they play during television interviews and the like, so certainly do check it out.

    Pottermania!
Hey, Garth can do it, why can't I?! I admit it, I've had Potter-mania since the first time I picked up the book, and before I decided on doing a JP3 page, a Harry Potter website was in the back of my mind. So I hope you enjoy this one day long Potter event -- and if you don't, don't worry, Dan's JP3 Page will be back tomorrow. Enjoy the movie!
