TLW earned a record $90.1 million during it's first weekend (which included the Memorial Day weekend) -- experts said that rainy weather across the country coupled with the recognizable JP brand helped TLW break records.

    About the DVD Hotlink
Disappointing news for those of us who don't own a DVD-ROM drive -- according to DVDFile.com, the web event will require that you access it via the Lost World or Jurassic Park DVD's. Hopefully the rest of us will find some way in... (Thanks 'Sgon2')

    Plot Detail from Bob
Now this is the stuff you can believe: While talking with Bob about the valdidty of some of the plot details I've posted here recently (Bob isn't sure either, since he doesn't have a complete script, just a shooting script), he spilled a tiny tidbit of info about one scene that'll be in JP3. According to his info, there's a scene where the group stumbles on a (spoilers) "[human] skeleton with a parasail and a camera.".

    Plot Details?
More from the mysterious source who has been sending scenes to JP - The Trilogy. Personally, I'm beginning to doubt the validity of all of this (According to Embryo, the sites' webmaster, the source says he is a "security guard" at Universal), but since we don't have any evidence either way, I'm posting it:

"This was filmed on Oahu, several months ago, and happens about a quarter of the way into the movie. The first group is tired, and walking along a dirt track. The whole group hears a rumbling sound simultaneously, and looks back to see an entire herd of herbivores, stampeding towards them. They all climb the nearest tree, and look back. The entire herd rushes underneath them, followed by a pack of seven Velociraptors. Up ahead, they all make a kill, and feed upon a Triceratops. The other raptors run towards a lone Ankylosaurus is attacked by Velociraptors, but it swings at one with its tail, and the velociraptor falls to the ground, dead. The other Velociraptors start feeding on it."

    Universal Cliff Pictures
MousePlanet.com, the site that has provided some very nice shots of the JP3 backlot sets at Universal Studios in the past, has posted several new shots on their site, taken last Thursday. They're calling this the "crater set", which is apparently being built in a "tank, presuambly so they can film with water in the bottom.". (Thanks AICN)

    Plot Description?
Well, the unsubstantiated plot descriptions and scenes are coming in fast now, as Countingdown.com received some news from a source who apparently has read the first 70 pages of the script. According to him, "Grant and Co. go to film a (highlight to read) documentary on site b (being a prequel it is set before the site b was destroyed). As luck would have it, they run into [a] storm and deviate, crashing onto Isla Nubular. Before long they find out the dinos have survived past 7 days (same way in Lost World). Grant's student is an escaped con as reported. He does his best to keep the crew stuck on the island which leads to the big, hour mark dino fest but this time it is not the T-rex, it's the Spinosaurus." When they first meet, he says, "this will be the greatest dino scene in 65 million years!"

Plot Details: More Paragliders And a Killing?
The guy who has been sending JP - The Trilogy plot details has sent another one in, this one having to do with one of the character's deaths... Again, since we don't know much about this scooper, you might want to take some salt with this news: (Thanks 'Phoenix')

"This scene is to be filmed at the end of November on Stage 12. The group is going through the forest without any kind of supplies. They then move out of the forest and spot Billy, who is yapping away on his cell phone. The group then runs out to Billy, but he looks up and runs in the opposite direction. The group loses site of him, as he retreats to the forest. The group falls to the ground, saddened until Eric shows Alan a giant footprint not too far away from them. He identifies it as a Spinosaurus footprint. Then from the distance, the group hears the roar of the Spinosaurus and they run away from it, in Billy's direction. They keep running until they arrive at a cliff, and see Billy flying off in the distance with his paraglider. The others set up their paragliders and fly off the edge of the cliff, towards Billy. Without warning, Alan heads right to a cliff, in the opposite direction of Billy. When Alan and the others get there, they see Billy already being attacked by Pteradons, pecking at him violently. He is finally killed when a Pteradon sticks its beak through Billy's heart."

    More Plot Details
Bob from Hawaii Movie Tours just posted the continuation of the exciting scene he described last time (Story) -- the Spino vs. the plane. (Highlight to read) After finishing off Ordesky, the Spino "goes after the group, who is huddling in the fuselage of the plane. The fuselage tumbles to the jungle floor from the tree tops." The Spino then slams into the plane, pushing and rolling it across the ground. "The group is hammered against the walls of the plane and tumbled around like socks in a dryer," Bob says. Finally, the Spino "steps on the fuselage, flattening it like paper."

    Plot Details
According to Cinescape, this weeks Entertainment Weekly has a short blurb about JP3, specifically about the plane crash we've been hearing about: According to EW, the film will open with this scene. EW also reports that filming will return to Hawaii in January to shoot the finale. (Thanks 'GoldblumRules'). Update: You can read the blurb online, here. Thanks 'TheJPexpert'.

    News From Universal
One of Harry's spies got a chance to sneak around Universal Studios last night after the "Grinch" party, and noticed an "enormous" building under construction near the Psycho House, which the security guard told him was for JP3 (I am assuming he's talking about the white-ish structure seen under the cliff in this recent picture). "About the size of a football field... [it] looked like the top of a hydro-electric plant snuggled inside a small canyon. Obviously built on the site of the blue sky/water tank to make use of its plumbing, the mammoth set was totally enclosed with scaffolding and two huge trusses crossing overhead to allow for camera placement. Very cool. Very large. VERRRRRY Impre$$ive."

    Scrapped JP3 Ending?
The Jurassic Park - The Trilogy site has received yet another scene description about a pretty bloody-sounding scene that was supposed to be filmed as the end to JP3 but ultimatly cut from the script. Like the last two scoops from this site, none of this is confirmed (we're still trying to find out exactly what this guy does at Universal): go here to read the description. (Thanks 'Gallimimus' and 'MalcolmCrowe')

    New Dino Discovered
Thought you might be interested in this bit of news from Italy, where paleontogists today announced the discovery of a new species of dinosaur, a 200 million-year-old meat-eating dino.

    Another Plot Description
The mysterious informant who supposedly works at Universal and provided the webmaster of the Jurassic Park - The Trilogy website the scene description a few days ago has sent in another one from a scene in JP3. Obviously, since none of this is confirmed, take some salt with this one:
"The scene happens mid-way through the movie, after the first sighting of the Spinosaurus. It is going to be filmed later this month on Stage 12 and in the backlot. The group is running through a forest trying to make it back to the structure, until Alan hears the snarl of raptors. They climb up a tree and below they see a pack of 7 raptors walking along. Eric looks up, and sees a flock of Pteradons above him. He falls back, making a loud 'crack' sound and the raptors see the group up in the tree. They start climbing the tree, but they escape by swining to another one, and climbing down a cliffside. They arrive at the structure, only to find Billy missing, and Nash's bandana on the floor, covered in blood."

    Election 2000, Part 2
Well, well, well, what an interesting election. I wrote a diatribe about "President-Elect" Bush here at 2am this morning, but in the insuring Florida controversy, I guess it's a good idea to take it back. Recount! Recount! Recount!

Night Scene Filming at Universal, More on the Logosaur
From the InGenNET message boards comes this bit of information about a friend's trip to Universal Studios, posted by 'JP Site C'. According to this friend, a "big meat eating [dinosaur] with a big fin in its neck" was spotted during the shooting of a night scene in "Stage 27 or 28". "The whole area was filled with fake jungle scenery like plants, etc," says the friend. (Thanks Varan)

    Election 2000
Once again it's a slow news day, so instead I will grace you with an editorial about the upcoming election (which, as you hopefully know, is tomorrow). I'll make it short, and to the point: I don't understand why this race is so close. Gore may even lose! I mean, it should be obvious to anyone that George W. Bush is incompetant and Gore is the far more qualified candidate (24 years experience, fair-minded, honest, loyal, competant, devoted to his family, etc.). Bush is an embarrasment -- Did you know he has been arrested by police on various charges three times? When questioned earlier this week, he lied about not serving time in jail: in his DUI arrest, he was held in jail for two hours. Bush is such a bad leader that he drove his oil company (which was set up for him by daddy) into the ground. IN TEXAS! As Govenor, he allegiedly accepted stock from oil companies in exchange for supporting a bill that would reduce enviornmental restrictions on those same oil companies! As a result, the enviornemnt in Texas is currently in the worst condition in the history of the state. I could go on and on about this guy (I won't even mention the abortion alligations). You really want to VOTE for this person?! Seriously: When you go to the polls tomorrow, I really don't care who you vote for. Just for God's sake... don't vote for George W. Bush.

    Even More Plot Details?
More possible plot news from the Jurassic Park: The Trilogy website, which received this email from somone who claims to work at Universal Studios. Since I'm not sure if it's legit (if it's fake, the guy did put a lot of effort into it), I've blacked some spoilers out, so highlight to read:
"The movie first sounded like a copy of the Blair Witch Project, but as I read on it got more interesting, and I can assure you that there is a thick plotline throughout the movie, unlike the second movie. Paul Kirby (William Macy) is asking Alan Grant (Sam Neill) if he would go to Isla Sorna and do a documentary on the animals there. Grant declines, but Paul comes back months later with a new proposition and Grant accepts. Grant says goodbye to his former wife (Laura Dern) and child and heads off to the island with Paul, his family and a couple of other people. They arrive at the island shooting the documentary when everything goes terribly wrong, and they have to get off the island, only to discover a dinosaur species that was never bred. To make matters worse, people are mysteriously going missing. When Nash's (friend of Paul's wife, Amanda) body is found wit three bullets to the head they discover that Billy Brennan (Allesandro Nivola) is actually an escaped convict from jail. He dies after being attacked by Pteradons and the survivors continue back to their plane, only to be attacked by a Spinosaurus, and are forced to crash land on Isla Nublar, where they discover something has survived."

    More Plot Details
Another description of an action-packed scene from JP3, courtersy of Bob from
Hawaii Movie Tours: This one was filmed in October at Universal, and starts off with (Spoilers! Highlight to read) an exciting plane crash. "The plane.. comes to a rest in treetops. We then get Grant's point of view of the ground below." The group then sees a spinosaur coming, Bob says, who looks into the cockpit of the plane. "We then see the Spino rip off the nose of the plane.. Ordesky, the pilot, is still in the cockpit." The group is obviously paralized with fear as the spinosaur looks into the plane and growls. "Ordesky climbs from the cockpit into the fuselage, [but] the spino pulls [him] from the plane." Sounds like some good stuff to me...

    Fan Fiction
I've changed some stuff with the Fan Fiction section in an attempt (fruitless, I think) to bring some organization to the page. You can now edit and delete stories you have already posted, the idea here being instead of getting tons of "Part 2, part 3, part 4", etc., you can just open up your old story and add on to the end when you write another part. If anyone has a suggestion or problem with this part of the site, please let me know.

    Hawaii Filming Moved Up
As had been rumored here, the return of the JP3 crew to Hawaii has indeed been moved up, from January to December, according to Bob from Hawaii Movie Tours. "When in December I don't know yet," Bob says, "but I will give you a date when I have it."

JP Featured on "World's Largest Digital Image"
As a part of a publicity stunt/advertisement for a new Nikon camera and the JP+TLW DVD's, a 65-foot image of the t-rex from Jurassic Park has been plastered at 1650 Broadway + 50th Street in New York City, smack dab in the middle of Times Square, according to this press release. "[Photographer Joe] McNally directed the creation of a complete jungle setting, built to scale by set designers Tribal Scenery, at a private studio near the Universal lot in Los Angeles," the release says. "Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks Productions and Amblin Entertainment provided a personal make-up artist for the dinosaur."

    Crichton Interview
While not really related to JP3, an interview with Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton has been posted to the gaming website Stomped.com, where the best-selling author talks about his upcoming computer game, Timeline, based on his recent book. Crichton's involvement in JP3 is still questionable -- he was named at one time as a Producer, but later denied any involvement with the film.
