Alan Grant's New Nightmare Chapter 5
    By Vito Hardy

Chapter 5 The Safari Lodge (2:31:44)

John Hammond stood outside the enterance to the Safari Lodge shouting out orders to the workmen whom were working on the fence around the building as well as several other cases in the area. Hammond puffed hard still trying to overcome the attack that he'd reseaved from the compies earlier near his Bungalow at a small lake. Hammond now despised the compies and wanted them all destroyed, but knew that they were still needed on the island to get rid of dino fetus and rodents that were on the island.
Suddenly a roar could be heard in the distance coming from the Visitor Center. I sounded like the Tyrannosaur. five people came running around the corner of the building and went off toward the shrubery. Hammond recognized four of them emediately. Two were his grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy, which he was sure had already left the island, as well as Ellie Sattler, and one of his geneticists Kathy, and some guy that looked like to be part of the military.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex then came around the corner and saw Hammond and the workmen and turned directions to run toward the people at the lodge. Hammond rushed in the Safari Lodge along with several workmen. The Rex then broke through the fence and charged forward capturing one of the workmen in it's mouth before the man was able to get in the building. The Rex then roars and starts off back into the jungle.

Ellie Sattler huffed and puffed trying to get her breath back after the chase she was put through. Lex and Tim were sitting on the ground shaking nonstop. Muldoon, Gennaro, and Grant looked at all of them oddly.
"Kathy," Muldoon said looking at the newest member of their team. "You're still here?"
"I'm afraid that after your and Dr. Harding's helicopter left no other helicopters arrived," Kathy said. "Mr. Hammond ended up still alive and told us to get back to work. I guess he's going to rebuild what was destroyed."
"There's no guessing to it," Grant said. "They're rebuilding the park and we have to stop it. Are you with us?"
"Ofcourse," Kathy replied. "I don't want to stay on this island any longer."
"Well we'd better get a move on cause we only have a little more then 2 hours to get it done," Grant said looking at his watch.
"What are you talking about," Kathy asked.
"You don't know yet," Gennaro asked surprized. "The Costa Rican Government will be sending jets by this island with bombs to blow the place sky high!"
"Mr. Hammond doesn't know about it," Kathy asked.
"Doesn't look like it," Grant replied. "If he did he'd be calling the mainland to call for rescue."
"That's what we have to do," Muldoon said. "We have to call for a rescue and get off this island with or without Hammond. Whatever happens we have to let the mainland know that there's still people here." Muldoon shoulders his gun. "Did you call for rescue? I'm guessing not after what I saw."
"There are raptors crawing all over that building," Ellie said.
"Is there anyone still in there," Grant asked.
"Yes," Kathy replied saddly. "All of the geneticists except myself are in the genetics lab. All of the cafeteria staff reported to Hammond's Bungalow. The Workmen as you can see are in the Safari Lodge. We are missing several people though. Mr. Arnold and Dr. Wu have vanished."
"Arnold and Wu were killed by the Velociraptors," Muldoon said standing up. "All we can do now is get into the control room and call for a rescue."
Everyone stood and started following Muldoon back toward the Visitor Center leaving the Safari Lodge behind.

Robert Muldoon lead the team of eight toward the Visitor Center with his gun by his side going slowly as to not make any unwanted noise. They walked up the steps to the enterance of the building and entered slowly. Muldoon ushered them all forward up the steps toward the Control Room. They turn down a corridor and start down ever so slowly. Suddenly a roar was heard from one of the rooms close to them. Muldoon rushed foward to hear that the roar was coming from the Genetics Lab.
Kathy pulled her security card out quickly and opened the door as Muldoon rushed forward with the others following behind. Muldoon stops suddenly to see several geneticists being chased around the room by Velociraptors. The animals chased the men and women around tables and incubation chambers taunting the people.
Muldoon pulled the gun up and aimed at the nearest animal firing an impact bullet right into the animal sending the raptor sailing into one of the computers blowing sparks everywhere. The other raptors turn toward Muldoon and the others snarling at them. "Dr. Grant take the others and go to the control room," Muldoon ordered. "Call the bloody mainland!"
Grant led everyone out of the Genetics Lab, but Gennaro stayed standing beside Muldoon. "What are you doing," Muldoon yelled. "Get out of here!"
"I don't know why I'm doing this," Gennaro replied. "But I'm going to try my luck at living dangerously again."
Muldoon laughed. "I'm glad I can count on you Mr. Gennaro. Let's kill these bloddy bastards!"
Muldoon lunged forward gun in hand toward the raptors hitting them in the heads repeatedly when they'd run up to him. Gennaro ran around finding any weopons of any kind. He picked up a computer and flung it at the animals knocking several of them down. The fleeing Geneticists ran around screaming as the raptors attacked them and tried to avoid Muldoon's gun shots and Gennaro's throughing of computer monitors, broken egg shells, and pens.
"You know what the funny thing about Dr. Malcolm is," Gennaro asked Muldoon yelling from the other side of the room.
"What's that," Muldoon yelled while shooting his gun at another raptor.
"No one ever listens to him, but he's always right and you don't appretiate him untill he's not around anymore," Gennaro yelled suddenly being ripped off his feet by a raptor. Gennaro proving to the monsters once again that he's strong heaves upward knocking the raptor off him.
Muldoon looked around the room realizing that all of the geneticists that were still alive had exited the room. "Everyone is savely out of here! Let's get to the Control room and help Dr. Grant and the others!"

Alan Grant entered the Control Room with Ellie, Kathy, Lex, Tim, and Sargent Miller. Grant ran to the phone and emediately dialed a number that was listed on the computer screen. Grant listened as a connection was made and someone said "Hello" into the receiver.
"Is this the military helicopter holding Dr. Harding that left Isla Nublar about an hour ago," Grant asked into the phone.
"Si Senor," the man said. "We're almost to the mainland."
"Turn around," Grant yelled. "The other helicopter crashed on it's return and we're trapped on this island again! You must return."
"I'm sorry Senor," the man said. "I don't understand what you're talking about. If such a thing had happened the general on the plane would've called for return when the helicopter crashed. I don't take well to prank calls Senor."
Sargent Miller ran forward and took the phone from Grant's hand. "Alright, listen you son of a bitch! This is Sargent Hunter Miller of the marine core. You turn that fucking helicopter back around right now or I'll make sure you have no job by the time I get back to the mainland."
There was a long pause to this. Miller smiled realizing that he'd just taken charge for the first time in his life. He'd been very frightened when everyone had first returned to the island and let the Muldoon guy take charge automatically because he was too frightened to do anything. Now he was just pissed at what his fellow men were telling Dr. Grant and was tired of it and didn't want to die. He wanted to life his life out till the end as an old man on his death bed surrounded by family and friends not on some island with people he didn't know where there was prehistoric animals that no one knew where still alive untill now.
"We're turning around now Senor," the man said into the phone.
Miller slammed the phone on the receiver just as Muldoon and Gennaro ran back into the room. "They're returning for us."
    "Who is," Gennaro asked confused.
"The helicopter Harding and Malcolm are in," Ellie replied.
"Let's just hope they get back here before the Costa Rican Government arrives to destroy this island," Grant said looking at his watch. "We only have an hour and fifty eight minutes left."
