Chapter 8: Headed for Alcatraz
The cavalcade rolled into the parking lot of the San Francisco airport, and everyone ran inside. They saw several men with guns running over to Gate 79, so they all headed for there. A huge security guard stopped them when they got there.
Guard: Excuse me, this flight is restricted.
Evilgrinch: No, we are going to get on that plane. We need to be out there on Alcatraz, sir, the terrorists have requested us.
The guard blinked.
Guard: Um…hang on a minute, they sent a list over with names on it. Clearance is required. Evilgrinch? Yep. Dan? Thank you. Vader? Good.
He continued down the list until all of the Veterans were cleared. He escorted them down the passage, and Evilgrinch conferred with him.
Evilgrinch: Sir, some of us actually need to be hidden from the gang over there while the rest need to be delivered. Could you suggest a solution?
Guard: Well, we were planning to fill the moneybags with explosives, but I guess we could scrap that and hide your friends in the bags.
Evilgrinch: That would be great. We will try to signal with flare guns in 24 hours. If we don’t, we want planes to bomb that island with napalm to consume the gas and render it useless. We will lose our lives, but we have no choice, because we want to minimize the casualties. Tell the rest of the men here, we will try. The group that is hiding is going to take out those missiles, that’s why we need them hidden.
Guard: Good luck. I’ll have someone on watch for the flares.
Evilgrinch: Thank you. GROUP TWO! Follow me! Group One, board the plane.
Group One boarded the plane, while Evilgrinch helped Group Two into the moneybags. It was a tight squeeze, but they managed it.
Evilgrinch: How are you guys planning to get out?
Dino_Dude: We all have switchblades, we’ll rip the bags and incapacitate anyone watching.
Evilgrinch: I hope you can pull it off. Got your weapons?
Acro: Yep, and we fitted as many as we could with silencers.
Evilgrinch: Good. I hope you guys can pull it off. Dac, Acro, we’re relying on you.
Dac: I promise we’ll do it.
Evilgrinch boarded the plane and watched the National Guard men hauling the bags into the cargo hold. He turned and saw Group One sitting all over the place in the room. He moved towards Spinoboy11, Vader, Cyros and Dan.
Evilgrinch: We’re ready.
Dan: Good. To Alcatraz.
Cyros: To the Alliance.
Vader and Spinoboy11: To their funerals.
Everyone in the room scowled and leaned against the wall, each imagining what they would like to do to the Alliance.
MEANWHILE…
Everyone in Group Two got more and more restless. They had nothing to do except whisper quietly to each other, trying not to move as first the seconds, then minutes, then hours passed. It was a three hour flight, so they would be stiff, uncomfortable and hungry in a freezing cold cargo hold for over three hours, and then dragged around an island fortress. Dac was trying to remember the maze he had walked through, knowing it would come back to him, and whispered a lot of tips to Acro, who had been crammed into the same sack as Dac. All the others whispered around a whole lot of jokes, trying to laugh everyone else into good moods, but unsuccessfully. Everyone wondered what was ahead of him or her. Would they pull it off? Would they be taken prisoner? But the worst thought of all came after half an hour, first to Dark Hunter, then Dino_Dude, then it dawned on the rest.
