Star Wars fans might recognize the redwood forests Ian & Co. walk through in TLW as Endor from ROTJ -- the same Northern California forests were used. (From: 'Vader')

The character development is amazing, this chapter has it all. I loved Malcolms little talk to himself and Bradford's talk with his wife.

Grant seems even more beliveable and so bitter at the mercenaries, could it be because of his last encounter with mercenaries (a la JP3)??

    Amazing work

Very good chapter, drucifer. Very good, indeed. The dialogue is on par, the details and descriptions are quite exceptional, and the thoughts that go through the characters heads are just superb.

    I'm really enjoying this story!

Wow! Drucifer - you are a really great writer! This is so well structured. Unfortunaltey it is now 1.30 am and I have work tomorrow - so now it looks like I am going to be spending my entire friday night reading the whole of this series.

Thanks for taking away my weekend dude! :-)

Thanks to everyone who read and commented. It's interesting that only a month or so ago, I was doubting that anyone would ever read the prologue :)

I'm in awe of how much positive response the story is getting...it makes me want to write more, and it makes me want to write better--you are all appreciated for the support you've lent me here.

    Stay tuned...

Nice focus on the characters, I really enjoyed that. It's good you take time to put characterization into your stories before the action sequences.

Looking forward to next chapter. :)

I think it's an excellent idea to slow down, and get into the minds of the characters. That's exactly what this chapter did, so I'm happy. :)

"she and Dr. Grant had nothing at their disposal but a few modest weapons and four complete morons"

... I love that line. It sums up Lex and Grant's situation perfectly.

Bradford is finally learning how to think on his own. My guess is that the presence of family life triggered his common sense. Now he's a potential good bad guy.

Which brings me to Malcolm. I'm hoping this Bradford guy might help him out a little bit. He needs all the help he can get. lol

To conclude this mini novel I have going here, the dialogue between Grant and Lex, in the beginning, was very good. And Grant's feelings toward his lack of usefulness in his professional field was a very sad realization.

In case you didn't know ... I am HOOKED on this story bigtime. lol. Keep up the good work. :)

Great. This is one of the quiet chapters, I can tell. Things like "He found himself wishing for the high hide, lost in the flaming wreck of the SUV a few hours and a half a lifetime before" jump out as being great.
The only problem is: The JP series doesn't have this much slowness in it, if thats a word. The others really kick off and start really fast, and don't stop. Then again, this is a different medium. Keep it up! I can't wait till your carnivore attacks!
