Watch carefully during the TLW trailer scene, and you can see Vince Vaughn wince in pain when Jeff Goldblum accidentally kicks his hand while trying to open the door.

    Excellent.

Did you miss that? I'll say it again: Excellent.

I've always liked the great degree of emotion you manage to put across on the printed page, but this chapter raises the bar. This is seriously good, tug-at-your-heart-strings stuff.

    My absolute favorite bit:
:: I expressed my goodbye with a smile, bittersweet nostalgia enveloping my contemplation. I heard the wind howl outside ::

    Just...so very nicely done.

I can't believe I didn't notice this chapter when it was first posted. Thank God for bumps...

Nicely written, yet again. If you hadn't hit rock bottom emotionally yet, then you finally did. How truly sad, Vader. I just can't help but wish that you would have actually said the things you were thinking though. I was surprised that you let her go away without at least trying to get her to understand your side of things. It would have benefited her, as well as you I think.

I've had good friends come and go in my life, just like everyone, and it is a very hard thing to cope with. The fact that you were able to put all those feelings into words, impresses me greatly.

    Well done.

Wow. If I was a wuss, that'd make me cry. Very well written.

You continue to dig up all possible emotions and convey them so well using the best words, Vader, and for that I again applaude it.

Man, losing a life-long friend is always saddening, but after all the things you're character has already been through, I can see why it hardly effected you at that moment. All I can hope from that is that the two of you stayed in contact.

And I agree with Junkee, so many saddening or depressing things have been happening lately that even the slightest insight into something more fortunate happening in your future, would be good right about now, lol.

I look forward to the next chapter, and as always, this was a great read, and some great work. :)

    Cheers,

    ~Dino_Dude~

    Touching, emotional, and wonderfully written.

Rachel's departure from the story was rather saddening really. I mean, one hopes that some light of happiness might someday come shining down upon you. But alas, everyone is moving away, beating you up, dropping their relationships with you, and just. . . well just crap really (perhaps that was too harsh, if so, my apologies). I'm hoping that in future chapters, something good might actually end up happening to you for a change.

    Anyway, great stuff! :)
