However Sarah's hair is now a mix of the two versions. In TLW novel she had SHORT BLACK hair, and in the movie she had LONG RED hair. Now in this she has LONG BLACK hair... It's just too confusing.
Malcolm and Grant on the other hand were ok for the most part. I liked that you mentioned Henry Wu being in one of the pictures though... However reading Martin's comments really reflect in my mind. He is right in a lot of ways. This thing does seem a lot like TLW novel... However when I was getting ready to read this, I was thinking that this would be a prequel to the first JP or some kind of sequel to the movies that had Hammond restarting his park and all... This is definately something much different...

I'm trying to bring out a new Ian, and give him a nre view on life... I will bring him out more in my next chapters.

But, when it moved to the dialogue, they just didn't seem like Ian and Alan anymore. They seemed like totally new characters, without the special voice or demeanor of Ian or Alan.

Part of the problem is that it reads like the start of TLW the novel in as much that the audience is in on the story but the characters are learning. However, Tim knows very much what went on as did Alan and Ian. So I feel the descriptions of the raptor attacks is set in a way to tantalise the audience - but you can't do that 'cause we are in on the knoledge!
Also logically so are the characters as, following the films, the whole world knows that dinosaurs exist! Hubia myths or not, anything resembling a dinosaur would not be a real mystery in a world where dinosaurs are known to exist.
It feels like you are going through the motions of re-writing TLW. I would like to see a fresher approach and see "Hammonds Dream" from maybe Hammonds perspective.
Great writing skills Amber, but I would love to see you really innovate!

Jack and Rebecca Fiels: Tourists, they are no longer in the story so forget them....
Derrick Carter is a paleontologist and Clay is his undergrad assistant.
Alan Grant and ian Malcolm, well, you know them. Sarah Harding, again, you know her....
Scott Philips, one of the heads of the dept. of biology of costa rica.
Antonio and julio are high govt. officials and also heads of the dept. of biology for costa rica. (and comrad of Scott Philips)....
Amanda,...she is a paleontologist recruited by carter to help out with the expedition...
Tim, all should know who this is....same Tim of "Tim and Lex", as in Hammond's grandkids...
There are still a few more charaters to be anounced, don't worry, once you hear more about them, it will be more clear what there roles will be....
