Guys, give Dan a break. News is so increadibly slow these days and he's trying his best just for us. If it weren't for him you wouldn't get ANY JP3 news. Lay off.

And Leonard Nimoy was trying out for a live action version of Marvel's Submariner, as the title charatcer, failed, and then decided wearing pointy ears was better than winged feet.
And when Luciele Ball heard about Star Trek, she tought it was a sea sailing boat. Apparently, she wasn't married to that idea, as Desilu studies still amde the sapce show. And the theme song does have words.

The Pilot was shown to CBS execs, and they did not like it, so they did not approve it, that episode was "The Cage", and it starred Captain Pike, not Kirk, they went back, and redid it, with a new cast (Spock was the only one that remained, basically), they showed the execs the new Star Trek, they liked it, and the rest is history, lol,

Ironically, Star Trek was cancle din it's first season. It wa sonly later in syndication, did everybody fidn it and turn it into a world phenomenon. Conventions, merchandise, 4 spinoff series, conversational tapes in Vulcana nd Kilingon, if not more. And one college course (The Matrix also hit college, too.)
