If you look carefully (and know something about guns), you can see that Muldoon's gun is not cocked and has the safety on right before he's killed in JP. Poor Muldoon. (From: Rexy!)

I remember the good old days of VHS, when you could drop the video, take it on vacation, lose the case, and still play it. you didn't have to rebuy it every month. And you didn't need a $300 player either...

But you gotta remember that both DTS and Dolby originate from the same source material -- it's only the compression techniques which are different. I've never really done a side-by-side comparison, but I have a Dolby setup at home and frankly, it sounds pretty damn nice.

I'm not sure if the Lexus/Toyota analogy works, especially considering DTS DVD's sometimes ship with fewer special features than their Dolby counterparts (such is the case on the JP + TLW DVD's). So really, the Dolby JP+TLW DVD's are the "Lexus" since they have more features.

Oh I might add, when I saw JP3 in the theaters it was in DTS and that was some incredible sound I heard...so I think I'll want JP3 in DTS. Hopefully, they will release it with DTS as well as Dolby 5.1 to satisfy all.

Well, Dolby Digital 5.1 is the standard for DVD's and of course it's a good format. See, people see DTS as the Lexus of it's kind. While Dolby is like your Toyota. Both are great and both can last 15 years, but people think the Lexus is better because it's more expensive when that is not the case. But anyways...hope I didn't confuse anyone. But, DTS is a good format...but Dolby is the standard and will always be the standard...but DTS is a nice addition to any DVD. Many people do find that DTS is a bit more clearer than Dolby. And don't forget Louder isn't necessarily better...what you want is clarity in a soundtrack. But, that's just my 2 cents on the subject.

Ahh, the great DTS vs. Dolby debate. Personally, I think Dolby wins hands down in this argument because it provides nearly-really-almost-very-very-similar audio quality while taking up less space on the DVD -- meaning more room for special features.

DTS is a 5.1 channel sound format that is supposed to be better than Dolby's 5.1 track. DTS stands for Digital Theater System. The thing that makes it better is that it is recorded at a higher bit rate and is indeed more clear and defined than Dolby 5.1. But don't get me wrong Dolby is fine, but DTS is a bit better. Now I have the defective JP DTS DVD and now I'm upset to hear they actually fixed the problem meaning I am going to have to go and buy the corrected version. Dang it. lol! Oh well, what can you do.
