Divorce seems to be a continuing theme in the JP series: Lex + Tim's parents are getting one in JP, Malcolm is stuck with his kid while his ex-wife is in Paris in TLW, and Paul + Amanda have got one in JP3. (From: TommyB)

why don't we directly go to universal and all give 1000$ for JP3/JP4 (and maybe ask for our names to be displayed on the JP4 end credits... or better : OPENING credits!

I don't think JP3 has anything to worry about. I did see America's Sweethearts tonight (sorry y'all..Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones A LOT hotter than anyone in the cast of JP3. YES, even the Spinosaurus looking all hot and wet. mmm..wait a minute..) and I was pretty disappointed. I, on the other hand, am offering to be EVERYONE'S date to Jurassic Park 3. And before you know it, it'll be a JP3 escort service! Oh, the things I do in the name of love.

oops I didn't mean to post that. and as for the 'enemy dumbasses', BAH, I'm not gonna skip PotA next week either just for 'the cause', Clearly JP3 is gonna rock the box office, its already made 30 in the middle of the week, no small feat for any movie, and this weekend's gonna be even bigger. In fact I think it is perfectly reasonable to project at least 80 million total by Monday. Most really big summer movies can easily make 50 over the weekend, and Wednesday won't hurt it because a lot of people will have waited till the weekend to see it at all.

I saw America's Sweethearts today (and JP again this evening), and Sweethearts will make probably about 30 mil all weekend, which JP in 2 days has topped. It's a decently funny movie and people will see it just because of the cast and all, but its not really worth a repeat view.

By the way, is the board down for everyone else here?

I was just watching ET and Access Hollywood, both commenting on this weekend's movies. ET asked people at theaters which movie they prefer, it was pretty devided, although the story was followed up by a little bit of Julia Roberts ass-kissing. Access Hollywood had an anylist(like we can trust those) who panned JP3("it should be extinct") and liked America's Sweethearts, and said that AS would be #1. They also talked to the casts of both movies, with Sam Niell, Julia Roberts, and Billy Crystal being pretty diplomatic about it, while William H. Macy and John Cusack were a little more biased. After the segment was over, host Pat O'Brien said that JP3 was "great". Looks like things are getting pretty brutal.

America's Sweethearts hasn't come out yet.

It could be everyone is seeing JP3 on Wednesday and Thursday cause they want to see Julia Roberts tonight...

Jp3 is destroying all the competition in its path.

It just seems as though people can't get away from a good old-fashioned blockbuster.

    TAKE THAT AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS!!!!!

this weekend for jp3 will be huge, but it wont make it into the all time top ten. the bigger this weekends gross, the smaller next weekends. i'm still a huge fan and loved, so dont flame me, but i go to box office sites all the time and these things do follow trends. sequels open big and drop off, go to a box office site and look around, hannibal, mummy 2, scary movie 2, lost world all open big and then take huge dives the next weekend. plus planet of the apes will eat up sci-fi dollars next weekend. i say jp3 finishes 190-220 somewhere, just below TLW. but ahead of AI and pearl harbor, ha ha ha ha ha. but of course, i could be wrong.

well, too bad it won't break TLW's record of most money made in three days (72 million). No where close, but oh well.I'm guessing it's three day grossing will be 43 million

It's incredible. The Friday gross is gonna be huge, between word of mouth and repeat viewings (my $7.50 will be put into that pot in a few hours), not to mention the weekend.

Looks like JP3 is gonna be the next film to burst into the Top-10. Just like the other two did. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but I am, anyway. =)

At 6:42:44 PM on 7/20/2001, Beau said:
Film analysts kept saying "Pearl Harbor" and "A.I." would be the big hits of the summer and JP3 would be a disappointment without Spielburg. I always said "Shrek" and "JP3" would be the blockbusters and those others would bomb. Damn, we should be on Access Hollywood, not those bums!

    -Beau

P.S.- If America's Sweethearts becomes #1, then it is truly a sad day in American history.

P.P.S.- I also heard in some prophecy that the end of the world would come in the form of America's Sweetheards being the #1 movie.

Sweeeeeeeet. Two of my favorite films, Star Wars: Episode I and Jurassic Park III, hold the top Wednesday and Thursday spots :).

And there's no way in hell America's Sweethearts will come out at #1. Julia Robert's last film, The Mexican, only grossed $45 million, and that was with the benefit of decent reviews (something AS isn't getting). JP3, on the other hand, is critic proof.

this is not a movie, it's a theme park ride, so you do it several times :-)
forecasts were for $11M...... Wednesday!! I say we could reach between 75 and 100 by Monday night. it's all over the place and one extra viewing per day.

I think that JP3 will be fueled by repeat viewings over the weekend. Looks like it will end up with maybe 75-80 million by the end of Sunday.
