Ebert has no true taste for movies. Movies like American Pie, Scary Movie, JP3, Deep Blue Sea, Anaconda, Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Tripple X, Spy Kids, Signs, and any other stupid movies? Thumbs up? Give me a break.

And since this was a non-JP3 bashing section, and the day that I was pissed off after seeing JP3, I'll simply say this: JP3 SUCKS THE BIG ONE! I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE FOR THIS SHIT, JOE JOHNSTON. YOU TOO TEA LEONI! I ANTICIPATED ALL THESE FUCKING MONTHS FOR JP3 TO BE A PERFECT THRILLER, NOT A FUCKING KID'S MOVIE.

    And P.S. Joe Johnston,

I'm hope you take the piss from me, from JClaw, and all the other pissed off JP fans.

Ebert has about as much changes of recognizing a good movie when he sees one than seeing his own a-hole. They guy is EXTREMELY OVERRATED. I mean, all he does is go against the fucking norm.

Nobody liked Congo? FINE! Positive review! How 'bout Tomb Raider? Positive Review! He keeps praising pieces of crap such as JP3.

And if you want an accurate critic, check James Berardinelli's reviews.

Excuse me, I read the story long before the movie came out, when they first started selling the book. I'v read the scrypt. I havent seen the movie but I have seen enough of it to understand it. A kid gets to the island, some misguided, hopeful parents trick an expert to go to the island, naturally somthing goes rong and they have to get off the island alive. The end. I must say that it was harsh, I'm sorry. But I don't think the plot was developed enough and didn't connect much of anything. THat's my problem.

Wow, you must of been asleep or something, because there WAS a plot, and it wasnt even that bad.

If I were that dude, I would kill myself. He is a typical man. Allways wanting to see the action and nudity and lude behavior that men like. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone here, but I had to say it. He liked the movie because of the action. There was no story telling. All they did was come up with a very scetty plot and added the name "Jurassic Park" to it. I would only recommend this movie because it was a Jurassic Park. Frankly I thought it was "ok" not to be confused with "good." It could have and should have been better. Lines were removed, and left the audience in confusion. Scenes were edited and cut and will not be on the DVD. I don't believe I speak for myself when I say "Don't expect an emmy."

Garth Franklin at Darkhorizons gave it 7/10 and said it was one of the few winners of the summer. I've always counted his reviews as some of the best out there, and he gives a very non-biased opinion.

Well I think that is just nitpicking Drakk, he has his facts much better than most people and I don't hold it against him for adding a II to the Lost World, or not remembering exact details from movies his saw 4 and 8 years ago.

""You will recall that this is the location of the doomed theme park in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park II."", looks like he has his facts messed up, there was no theme park on Isla Sorna, and even got the title of the movie wrong, there was no "II" in it, while I liked his review mostly, if someone is going to be a film critic, they should at least get the details right, especially for one as big as Ebert,

Seeing it in 2 hours, 15 minutes!!!!!! WOOHOO!! Ebert is one of the few critics I somewhat like, for all the reasons mentioned (not following popular opinion, etc). So, if HE liked it, I KNOW I will! :D

Just got back from seeing JP3. First of all, this is no Jurassic Park. Second, it was too short. Besides that, it's great fun! This one beats The Lost World by a mile, and the thrills are plentiful. I've been following everything on JP3 for half a year now, and I have to say, my expectations were pretty damn high. True, the movie didn't live up to those expectation, but what movie can? The movie was everything it promised to be, and a bit more. A superbly crafted thriller that's riviting and action-packed. My grade: B+

frankly, i'm a bit surprised at ebert. i know that he's always pretty much been the critic who seems to take movies more for what they are supposed to be and what THEY wanted to accomplish, instead of usually having some strict regiment of what does and does not make a good film. however i find myself disagreeing with him on a great deal of movie reviews these days; but i can't say i disagree with his jp3 review just yet as i have not seen the film yet.

Ugh, ALL critics bug me. They think they can make up the minds of an audience themselves. When someone asks me if a movie is good, I always say "It depends on if you like that kind of movie" or "I can't answer that, you have to figure that out on your own." All critics should be fired since all they do is cause people involved in films to loose money. GRRR!

Only 4 more hours for me!

Yeah, he likes what he likes and that's the way all of us should be as well. I've seen people on these talkbacks saying things like, "Uh oh, Jurassic Park 3 is going to be crap because I read a couple of bad reviews...". the important thing is to make up our own minds about it. No one told us what to think of the original Jurassic Park. Hell, critics weren't even a factor.

At 12:53:06 PM on 7/18/2001, GoldblumRules said:
Very good point Mattman. He doesn't cave in to popular opinion, cuz he knows that is not his job- to be liked by everyone. Hell, he gave 1.5 stars to Usual Suspects then gave 3 stars to Congo. Sounds screwed up, ha? To popular opinion, yes. But it's his.

At 12:41:43 PM on 7/18/2001, Mattman said:
I don't really trust anyone's opinion until I see something for myself, but I hold Ebert in high regard as being the most accurate and unbiased of critics. He doesn't follow bandwagons. For instance, while everybody was shitting on Titan A.E. and Final Fantasy, Ebert gave both those movies glowing reviews. Same for Phantom Menace.
