I would like to chime in on this in the Raptor's offense.....GO RAPTOR!!!!!
Part of this entire plot (notice this is not a spoiler) is that the raptors are smart. They have evolved and are self taught. It is called self defense. How does a cat know to jump on a dogs back during attack and stick its claws in its eyes? Did they dog ever say, "hey cat...here are my eyes, don't get too close or else I cannot see you." I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say no.

And THANK YOU DAN for not saying....I'm First and having a big O over it!!! :)

the point was why would a raptor snap the neck instead of slashing him or whatever, don't take it as a personal offense that I pointed it out!

also one more thing-- in one scene a raptor kills a person by taking the head in its jaws and snapping it as if it were Steven Segal, i mean c'mon how does the raptor know about humans and then to take the neck and snap it just like that, that seemed a little unordinary.

well, i finally saw the movie after FOUR long years, and alls i can say is, yea it was alright. i dont know why, but i feel a little disapointed. anyone reading this may think i'm lying or dissing this movie, but i am a bigger fan than you are of JP!!!!!! i work at a movie theater, the same one for the past two and a half years and i've seen at least plenty of movies for free and way ahead of the public... and this is what its all been about....JURASSIC PARK III. sure this movie is exciting and pretty action packed, but i will tell you the things i didn't liked....1) the T-REX vs. SPINO scence is in the first 1/4 of the movie, but it could have been left till the end for some dramatic thrill, but hey i didn't direct this movie, 2)you will see a scene with Grant asleep and then suddenly awakes to a raptor's head talking to him, "WAKE UP, WAKE UP" and then he realizes he was still dreaming and the raptor turns into his buddy.[THIS IS JUST PLAIN QUEER, xpect this scene and dont be as bitter about it as i was, it was just tacky and retarded of the director, but it's in there, so deal with it--i think it was a stupid laugh, real tasteless] 3) i love t-rexes, and they're NOT IN THE MOVIE FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES!!! What a load, this damn Spino is the new big guy, and it loooks so friggin dumb, but hey i didn't direct it, i guess they wanted a new angle 4) the movie is no more than about 1 and 1/2 hours long, only 92 minutes of freakin dino's, this disturbs me--four years for an hour and a half movie, what the heck is that about????!!!! 4) more people needed to die, they only take a few to the island in the first place, but i wanted to see more carnage and ripping of flesh and such things... 5) they left it open for a sequel--granted i LOVE jurassic park and am so obessesed like all of you, but i dont know if i should care to see another flick of this...at least put spielberg back in the director's chair, but i think 3 is enuff.!!! ALL in all i did overall like the movie i guess more than Lost World. but that seems more apealing to me<the main problem is it's only 1.5 hours and that just didn't fufill me all the way> BUT go see this movie like me i will see it a bunch more times.... I give this movie an 8 out of 10, where Jurassic Park is a 10 (obviously)

I hate studio ad people. I really do.

Yeah, I remember one commercial where the announcer said, "They thought that nothing had survived." No they didn't! Everyone knew there were dinos alive and well on the island after the Lost World.

For the record, my comments about Dark Horizons were basically constrained to those idiotic anonymous reviewers on the site.

Mattman: S'okay, let's all just be cool, then. ;)

And about the taglines... seriously, I don't get it, either. No matter how innovative or interesting the film itself is, the studio's marketing team finds a way to make the adverts completely ridiculous. It's just silly. Just remember that these people are the same ones who came up with the "New Island" commercial for JP3... Clearly, they don't even glance at the scripts or the plot summaries before they get to work. And if they do, and still make flubs like that...

    T-rex,

It isn't a jp3 novel per-say, its a tie in for both novels that answer questions about them and also the movies. And yes he is writing it because there was info about it on Jurassic park database.

    Cheers,
    Smurf

Dark Horizons is probably the best all around movie news site on the web. Those reveiws for JP3 are sent in by other people, and the person that runs the site, Garth Franklin, posts them. It is not his fault if other people don't like the movie. Last week I saw three postive reveiws for JP3 on Darkhorizons. For anyone that cares, his review for JP3 will be up on Wednesday. So don't go judging a person or their site unless you check your facts.

Wow. What a movie! I'd definatly say it's better than the Lost World. Not as good as JP1, that movie put me in awe. I love the Jurassic Park. I thought JP3 was going to be better but it still was an awesome movie.

i Just watched it again, It still kicks ass the 4th time around. I think i'm gonna watch it again. One thing i think they should of done is to let the characters that die in the movie, last a little longer. I think they ould of used a bit more dying later in the movie. I also wished they would of expanded a little more on the fact that there are new dinosaurs on the island that aren't supposed to be there. I would of liked and explanation of it. Maybe it will be in Chrichtons(sp??) Book. i hope so.

    Cheers,
    Smurf

Taglines just get recycled. I nearly died laughing when I saw a preview for Final Fantasy and the announcer said, "We've always wondered if we're alone in the universe. On July 11th... we'll wish we were." I've heard that damn tagline on ID4, Starship Troopers, and God knows how many other movie previews.

"two thumps up" is cult...not annoying... but true calling movies a "thrill-ride" over and over again is annoying, but then many action flics just look too much the same!

Another tagline I'm starting to hate is "this summer will be hot"...man I dunno how many movies have already tried this cheap tagline:)

Well the guy at Dark Hrizons Obviously has no taste in movies.; I have just got my hands on the screener for JP3 and all's I can say is it is an awesome and thrill packed scary/adventure movie. The script could at times be called a little weak, but its hardly noticeable. If u just sit back and enjoy the movie it all comes together in an astounding piece of work by director Joe Johnston and this was all on my 15in computer monitor. I can't wait to see it in the theaters. Yes the ending does leave itself open for a sequal. The T-rex and spino battle is awesome, but i think it happened a little to early in the film, but still it was great. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it. There will be some people who hate it but hey, it takes all kinds to make the world.

    Cheers,
    Smurf

Furtim, sorry about the argument earlier, I misread what you were saying and flew off the handle. Sometimes these talkbacks turn to the ridiculous, and I take it out on the wrong person.

Anyways, as for Dark Horizon, they have always been sketchy with their reviews. Typically they are sent in by "anonymous" people, who will either hate a movie or love it, and rarely anything in between. They are about as trustworthy as Aint it Cool.

Or maybe it's a general film site.

I guess I can add "Foot in Mouth Disease" to my growing list of problems.

Okay, I just checked (for once. I think I deserve an award), and Dark Horizons is a sci-fi movie site. Now I'm REALLY confused. Hmm. Maybe there's just not enough technobabble and Romulans.

What's up with Dark Horizons? There have been like three reviews from that site, all negative. Are they some artsy-fartsy movie site, or something? I mean, geeze. You'd figure one person on their site would at least KINDA like it.

I think it's funny how everyone who gives JP3 good reviews are revealing themselves, but those that give JP3 bad reviews remain anonymous...I guess its cuz they know everyone's gonna love JP3 no matter what the major outcome...and anyone who says JP3 isn't great runs the risk of being thrown off the roof of a high-rise building, falling into a massive heap of spino manure, and being sodomized by rabid compsognathus

    At 12:44:15 PM on 7/16/2001, Cheetah167 said:
