Author Michael Crichton did not think the Ian Malcolm character would become as popular as he did in the JP movie, so killed him off in the first novel. Asked to explain how he magically came back to life in the second book, Crichton said he Ian was only "slightly dead." (From: Dan J.)

Just seen the film at a special UK preview. I was surprised to learn it got a PG, but the place was full of kids ( some as young as 6 ), and perhaps surprisingly, none of them seemed particularly 'rattled' by any of the more horrific elements of JP3. JP3 is pretty dark, though, about the same as 'The Lost World', I'd say.

its 93 rounded up... the BBFC calculate a films run time by the amount of film (in feet and inches!) that there is...

And its 12 cert Dan, not a 14...

I never though JP3 would be as 'Dark' as everyone was promising, that's exactly what they said about TLW too.
