Jurassic Park's promotion included a series of six cups available at McDonald's, each featuring a different series. For The Lost World, Burger King issued a set of four TLW themed watches, each of which could be picked up for 1.99 with the additional purchase of a Burger King Kid's Club meal. Jonk -- I agree, that's why it's so hard. You have to review the CD based on the music alone, and not how the composer really wanted it to be heard -- with the pictures. However, just doing that, I think the JP3 score lacks the original themes and substance that makes the JP soundtrack so great to listen to without even thinking of the scenes each track goes with.

How can you comment on a movie soundtrack without listening to it while WATCHING the movie??? It boggles the mind (not directed to you, Dan)...

Hey Zilla2k1, wehave the same idea!!!! Yes! I've been planning htat for a while, too! Well I'm probably the only giant JP fan I know among my friends (save a few), so I would probably have to space out watching the movies over a few days, then go see it, hehe. :)

Hey I am visiting a place called Adak island, its in the Aleutians of alaska, and I must say that it looks EXACTLY like the islands on approach in JP and TLW! Today and yesterday, the clouds kinda made everythign darker, while the ocean was abrilliant blue, so it looked EXACTLY like how the island looks on approach on the JP/// trailers (remember the first commercial)!!! God's blessing me! So the JP and TLW themes are stuck in my head! I wont be able to fly back into town (Anchorage) until the 26th... but thats okay!

    Oh and...
    *whispers*
I have the TLW theme stuck in my head a lot... and sometimes I imagine it with a drum beat and bass line similar to gypsy queen (or whatever is tied at the end of Black Magic woman) by Carlos Santana...
    *scurries away*

Let me start by saying that THIS SONDTRACK ROCKS! Its absolutely amazing, despite the lack of echo-y type resonance that the first JP theme had, but it still rocks! Imbuying it day 1!!! Then i shall have all 3 cds! YAY! And, ahem, my jp week is eternal ^_^
I started it about 2 years ago, and have not stopped playing the damned cds and dvds are on repeat heh heh heh.
Bets track? Why, need you ask? heh heh ^_^
For those who NEED to, its The Hat Returns, of course. I caused that track! yay!

I can't wait. I like the JP and TLW soundtracks both a lot.
I think that Davis has just a different view on the movie than Williams, so that's wy the music is different.
Cool anyway that they mix it with TLW music! That really ROCKS!

I just saw the egg-rolling commercial, and is it just my imagination, or when Grant is running through the water, he yells "Ellie"? Could she be attempting a rescue attempt?

IF SOMEONE KNOWS FOR SURE (i.e- they read it in the Movie Scrapbook, HMT Script, etc.) PLEASE DO NOT POST!!!! I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HEARD IT

I have a feeling that critics will love this feature. Here are my reasons:

    1. Critics liked both JP and TLW. Go to rottentomatoes.com and you'll see what I mean.

    2. The terrific actors. Need I say more?

    3. The music. Music, in my opinion, is half the movie.

    4. The buzz that it is good. The press screening is all I need to say.

    5. The constant action. Is it me, or do movies with constant action get good reviews? Hell, fifteen minutes of getting to the know the characters then we hit the island for the duration.

    6. The director. Boy, his last movie was incredible.

Here are what some bad reviews will say in them:

    1. Same plot. Get to an island, run like Hell.

    What do you people think?

This track is much better than the short 10-second snippets of the Raptor music I listened to before. It's a really clever interpretation of the original JP theme. Good stuff. =)

I personally liked TLW soundtrack, perhaps better than JP. And like it or not, you cannot compare the two, because they are two different movies that need different themes. JP had more "Wow, dinos are neat" moments, while TLW was more action-oriented. Can you imagine that soft brachi music in TLW? It just wouldn't work.

It sounds like the JP3 soundtrack fits well with the themes of its movie, which is good to hear. I can't wait to have my own.

But what do you mean the special features are nothing to write home about?! How many other soundtracks do you see w/ extras! I'll take what I can get, thank you very much!

Oh, HAPPY 4th ALL! Don't eat too much potato salad!

Hey first of all Dan, THANKS for giving us some patriotic Red White and Blue! (USA! USA! USA!)
Second of all, I have to say that I LOVED the Lost World soundtrack (but cant find it in any store), and the percussion idea was great -- it fit well with the movie. Why am I the only person in the world who's favorite movie is the Lost World? I loved everything they did in that one. Every little thing in there is awesome.
Not to defy your opinion cuz we all have them, but the Lost World piece, to me, is very awesome and musical, savage, and not really cheesy.
Not to say I dont like the Jurassic Park themes, but the Lost World had its nice and savage scene.
Hey I learned jsut yesterday how to play the Lost World theme everyone, and if you're interested -- its in A major. It builds up on C, and it starts on A major. And then jumps around on a minor scale, except every note hit is a major note, so its weird, but it sounds so good. :)
Hey I saw the commercial where the Raptor comes RIGHT up to Tea in the jungle, and she pushes the eggs to it, and its sniffing her and Grant says "Dont even move!" VERY intense! I cant wait to see more!
Yeah -- its a shame that Don Davis had to really hide behind the theme of someone else's peice, so it kind of takes away his credidation or something (you know what I mean?) but I'm sure its great. I cant wait to buy it myself, but I think I will wait till after the movie so it isnt all spoiled before hand. :)
    Thanks again, Dan!
