As "SOTV" was also produced by Lions Gate, it should be possible to find out if the rumor is true or not, in that case the part with Bale would probably be true too. I heartily agree it's probably made up. On the other hand, Bale's big break was in Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, for which he won a bunch of awards. But that doesn't mean he's in this of course. I don't think Bale is into the big blockbuster gig right now.
