Actually the part we are definetly overlooking is that Johnston in fact never said that the POSSIBLE returnees would only be making cameos; he gave absolutely no indication as to the size of their roles. The part about them being only cameos is a fan-based concept.

I just hope Dr. Grant does return.

Sam Neill is one of the reasons the first film is a modern classic, and because of his absence, and that of several other stars of ths first, TLW stunk. If he returns I think JP3 will have an opportunity to be one of the best films of the year.
Please let the rumor ring true.....

The God of movie-news webmasters, Harry Knowles, posted a short news bit on his site this morning apparently from someone "inside" at Universal. According to them, "Sam Neill has appeared on some documents from UNIVERSAL into the agent/management ranks as returning to JURASSIC PARK." Harry says that he's still trying to verify this info, so I'd still take it as a rumor for now.
