JP3 Watcher is right.. Think about it geographically. If there is a "landing strip" on Sorna, it seems most likely that it was constructed while Sorna was still operational. But we never saw it in TLW, correct? If this is true, then we are now on an entirely new part of the island. If the animals are as territorial as they are said to be, then there's no limit to what new things we might see that we could never see before.

all these theories will probably be proven wrong byy the movie, but aint it fun to guess?

Even though Sorna is a new island to the people that go there in JPIII, including Grant, Grant still knew about this island and the incident in San Diego because he says so in the lecture in JPIII.
Also, Here's my theory on the Spinosaur:
In Jurassic Park, the visitors were on Isla Nublar. In The Lost World, Hammond says that Nublar was the showroom and the real "factory" was on Isla Sorna. In the board room scene that was cut from the lost world they say that Isla Nublar was destroyed including all of the dinosaurs. That means that now there is only one island with dinosaurs. When the hurricane hit Isla Sorna the Spino was only just a baby. They released the animals and four years later comes Ian and the others. When the two groups go there they stay on the same side of the river. Which ever side of the river they were on, the "feircly territorial" spino was on the other side of the river in his territory. Then in JPIII, the group lands on the air strip which just happens to be in the Spino's territory on the side of the river that the people in the Lost World didn't go to. That also explains the Pteranodons(sp?). Then on their way to the compound to get help, they cross the river into the T-Rex's territory and the spino still follows because "he now feels he has to defend this whole area." Also nowhere in any of the movies are any where else did it say the InGen and Hammond knew nothing about the Spinosaur. Hammond did know it was there, it didn't just magically appear.

    At 10:51:26 AM on 6/16/2001, LSF45 said:
How would spino be made after TLW though??? Think about it, who is dumb ennough to make a dinosaur and throw him on an island with other dinosaurs when they could be makin money putting him in a zoo or something????

But, i have an idea, hope it doesn't sound to stupid.

idea a) That there we're two adult spinos grown after the events of JP, they lived for many years and breed the spino we see in JP ///. About a few months before the events of TLW, The Rex family met up with the 2 spinos and fought over terrioty. The 2 spinos we're killed, and the baby had to survive on its own. Thats why we don't see them, or the baby in TLW, because while he was growing. And since this is 4 years later, the spinosaur is all grown up and ready for some killing, stomping, gettin rowdy, bitting back, fighting rex, good ol', dino action, human statisfaction- well, you know what i mean.

Idea b: Also, the two spinos could have breed 2 spinos, one a female and one a male. i don't wanna say anymore though. Finito, lets go to the next one.

idea c: If they only bred one, then it coulda boringly survived in the wild for all these years, stayin in its terrioty. But this does have fact to it. Isla Sorna is much bigger than Nublar, i believe, and hopefully i'm right. You see, the hunters were most likly near one part of the island, and Malcolm's team was near one part too. If they landed more so near the north, than the spino could've and might have been in the south, eluding Hammouds computers and surviving on whatever is over there. Now if they landed in the south, which i don't think happened, but it could've, then this idea would be vise versa.

Also, there aren't any other JP islands expect for one, and that's an extermly small island that has the Chaos Effect dinos, and that island is 15 miles away, and that is INgens dirty little secert, and i am writing a story about that so hopefully i can write it all back soon, because my Visor lost power and when it does it deletes everything and if you didn't save it to your computer, than your in trouble, lol.

But i hope these ideas somewhat work with you all.

    LSF

I aplaud you, Answer Man! Umm anyhoo, my theory is that remember the TRex? Remember WHY it followed the people in the Lost World? Because the carnivores were territorial. Whenever they crossed paths with the TRex, the TRex continued to pursue the group because both Rexes felt they had to protect every area from which they crossed paths with them.

I'm pretty sure the Spino never showed up becuase it simply wans his territory. I'm also guessing the Spino had his own little fence to keep him from getting everywhere else.

I'm also sure maybe the Spinosaur is actually modeled after the suchimous thing (however its spelled). Spielberg did the same exact thing with the Velociraptors. If you ask me, they fit the dimensions of the Deinonychus a lot better than the actual raptors did. But would JP have been more popular with Deinonychuses and suchomuses running around? Bleah.

Thats hollywood for ya! We should be happy that they've taken GREAT lenghts to ensure they seem as real as possible. You know. Psh they could have made a giant raptor or something (that would be so stupid if you really think about it).

    :)

Thats all very true.i didnt know that Spinosaurs were that big,I thought they were smaller.

At 4:03:51 PM on 6/15/2001, Anthony said:
It's not that odd that the Spinosaurus wasn't in JP, because all the heavy genetics were done at site B (Isla Sorna). They just transfered the fertilized eggs to Isla Nublar. It's very possible that the Spinosaurus DNA was found in a mosquito in amber more recently (around the time of the movie JP, and not four years earlier like the T-Rex for example) and had just been created at Isla Sorna when the whole thing was shut down by the Costa Rican government and the JP investors after the first movie.

...But it still is odd that all of a sudden a dinosaur bigger, stronger, and meaner that the T-Rex suddenly appears four years after InGen and Malcolm’s party left for Isla Sorna.

At 3:51:10 PM on 6/15/2001, Mighty Rex said:
I think ANOTHER ISLAND 'site C' would be really a stupid idea. Lets say the narator has made a mistake.
The Spinosaurus on site B could still be a small creature when the expedition in TLW was made. But we forget one thing: were was he during Jurassic Park. It only takes +- 4 years to be a full grown spino isn't it.
For the Pteranodons, let say that they were prisoned in their cages and the small ptera (end of TLW) lived free, and now the full grown Pteranodons of JP3 escaped of their cages. Sounds that like a good explaination?

    At 3:46:58 PM on 6/15/2001, no1important said:
the Spinosaurus looks like the Suchomimus from Jurassic Park:War Path.it doesnt look like the Spinosaurus in the game at all.

Yeah.I guess your right. The Pterodons looked different than the new ones too.

At 3:27:05 PM on 6/15/2001, Anthony said:
But it's been 8 years since the genetic experiments stopped. The only logical explanations are that:

    A) The Spinosauruses (or Spinosauri, or whatever the pluaral is), takes a really long time to grow or,

    B) The small army in TLW was lucky as hell.

...and also, what about the Pteranodon? The only time they were going to cross paths with them in TLW was in the end, and they replaced that with the Godzilla sequence.

Actually, I think there were only two new ones shown (not counting the AFI one) I've seen the same two MANY times, but no others.

Does anyone have different commercials that don't fit these descriptions? Personally, I think it's just people confused about what they saw, but I'd love to know for sure!
