the aspect ratio is like the other JP movies and the dream sequence will be cool BECAUSE it'll be different from the other movies...

Actually, i might not go see it. I'm satrting to think JP3 being directed by johnston is a bad idea. Were all crying on the inside for spielberg. Admit it

This and the aspect ratio are bad 2 bad things about this movie. They are not in character with the other JP movies

This idea completely sucks, It's sh*t if i may say so my self. Cut it from the theatricle cut then include it on the dvd. If it's kept it better be done well, really well

Grant isn't having nightmares from his JP experience. Going back simply triggered it. The Raptor ain't sitting nowhere. Grant will be commenting to Billy what a bad idea this is, then look and see a Raptor staring at him, it'll open it's mouth, then we'll hear Amanda calling him, and he awakens to learn they're there.
And while I'm sure the kids had the ebst therapy in the world, I still find it ahr dto eblieve they survived their injuries with nos carring or infections what so ever.

I dont think it will be a dream sequence so much as a quick kinda flash thingy...Either way I dont think it wont be too long.

It would be cool if he was talking to someone turned away for a second and then looked beack and there was a raptor sitting there grinning.

Also, the fact that Joe Johnston said that he he "fought" for the scene means that most of the other people involved in JP3 didn't like it.

At 8:57:20 PM on 6/8/2001, Owen said:
I don't really like this idea at all. I mean, showing a dream scene is too much out of character with the other two films, PLUS it just makes everything seem unrealistic.
It just doesn't seem appropriate. If the dream scene stays, I hope it is very brief (as in 3 seconds).

This sounds like a powerful scene. I'm sure they haven't made it look cheesy, otherwise they would have just left it out completely. Remember, they tried to to the "T.rex's tongue" scene from the JP novel in the first movie, but they left it out - Spielberg said it made Rexy look like Dino from the Flintstones.

This scene has a lot of shock effect. It's probably done in a perfectly normal way, so that we think Grant is actually awake, then all of a sudden he wakes up from his nightmare and we'll realise he was just dreaming.

The audience won't feel fear for the raptors after they have seen this silly scene. Johnston if your reading this and the audience end up hating this scene as much as jar jar binks plese release a phantom edit sort of thing on dvd. At the moment i trust joe so please don't let us down. If your not 100% sure it'll work scrap it asap

Raptors din't sit like dogs. The secne will not be in character with the other JP movies. The raptor will most likly have a hint of cartoon fell to it if they are going to makie it sit in a seat. I won't be suprised if they put a CGI grin on it's face. Think of the psychology of it if it is a a little cartooney there will be no fear for the raptors that are going to come in later on. We'll have to see

Imagine how shocked the unsuspecting audience will be when there's a raptor, out of nowhere, sitting near Grant. I can hear the whispers of concern already..

They should have done the scene this way:

    GRANT

Guys, I gotta go use the John you mind?

    PAUL

    No, go ahead

Grant walks back to the airplane, and opens the small bathroom door. Inside, a raptor is sitting, looking at a magazine. The raptor looks up at Grant indifferently

    GRANT (scared, trembling)

    Ummm... err .... sorry

The raptor ignores him, and continues reading magazine.
Grant slowly backs out and closes the door.

    PAUL

    Are you done, Grant?

    NASH

Yeah, cause there's the landing strip ahead. You want me to put her down?

Grant remembers raptor in the bathroom.

    GRANT
What do you mean, you can't land here!!!...

Its probably more of a crouch, like its perched on the seat, kinda like the raptor in TLW perched on that branch while chasing Ian.

WHAT??? you don't know what a troodon is...

because they were about 2.5-3 feet tall a lil' bit smaller than actual velociraptors (3 ft. tall)

At least it wasn't in his lap.

Hey Darknodin, the Raptors in the movie are only 6 ft. high, therefore they are still smaller than Troodons. As a matter of fact,in real-life,Raptors were only about 4 ft. high.6 ft. looks more menacing.I wouldn't want the main dinosaurs in the JP trilogy to be anklebiters, either.

raptors killed by 7 feet high troodons (since the raptors are bigger the troodons could be too!) that's be sweet!!

or killed by super-intelligent 3 feet high troodons (more intelligent then humans...) that can use weapons with extreme accuracy and can solve EVERY problem in a second (a real second)

I think that this nightmare sequence would be pretty appropriate, and might add a cool sort of tension before we see the real thing again. Along as its not a cheesy dream sequence with blurring and harps, it should be fine.

Joe reads the site right? There is a possibility that is a raptor from JP because Joe could have changed it. ILM knows what they are doing.

My favorite raptor smile is when the kids run from the kitchen, and it stands up and grins. Those teeth rock!

When I think about the scene, I see Grant looking around the plane a little. Then all of a sudden he looks to the side and he sees a raptor preparing to lunge at him. The raptor give out a high pitch scream, he jumps from his seat at Grant, and the Grant wakes up.

    It could be cool.

He'lla sk Grant for some peanuts.
Grant saw Raptors more than thta. He wtached as two close din on them,a nd one jumped.
No dino has been proven smarter than Raptors (in JP, only.) I think the whole point is there won't be better versions. Maybe in Jp4. Grant and Malcolm go up itno space as celebrity astronauts, and land in a starnge future where evolved Raptors rule. Worse, they have buildings full of human skeletons, and talka bout evolving from humans. Until they hit Site B again,a nd learn the truth about the Planet Of The Velociraptors.

I hope it is done as a creepy scene. Kind of something foreboding before the crash happens. If its done right, it'll be really good.

Yeah! Raptors need their just dues. The only good guy T-rex ever killed was Eddie, raptors killed Muldoon, Arnold, Arjay, Wu(book), Eddie(book). And T-rex killed several bad guys, Gennaro, raptors, Burke, Carter, Ludlow. When are raptors gonna get some. Maybe they'll have Megaraptors in the next one!

(Note: I don't really want Megaraptors.)

It does seem kinda silly, but then again most dreams are.
I can just picture the raptor staring back at Grant, possibly holding a magazine...

Any way, if it turns out really cheesey I'm sure it will be rectified later in the movie, I would never doubt that!
