Vocals are cool. Listen to the sountracks of Hannibal, Titanic and Gladiator. At the right time it sounds perfect.

There is a lot of vocals in the Original JP score. You notice it the most behind the theme, when they first see the brachiosaurus. They hold a high pitch as the horns go back and forth. It's really a bueatiful combo when you sit back and take it in. Williams did a great job with that score. It made the movie one hundred times better.

Vocals might actually be good for JP3.. they can create a great deal of depth and size. To get an idea of what I mean, listen to Duel of the Fates from Williams' Star Wars Episode 1 soundtrack. Samples of it can be found practically everywhere on the web.

As did Broken Arrow's soundtrack, which was otherwise mostly sampled. Choral pieces and classical pieces seem to mesh well together in movie soundtracks. It's not really singing so much as just a different instrument most of the time. =)

</b>The one thing that I'm really hoping for is the original JP theme, barely modified, on the CD.

Mr. Goldwater was kind enough to answer a few questions that I had for him. I hate to advertise my site (basically because this is just a talk-back thing), but the brief interview with him is over at inGenNET.

No kidding. I can't wait to see if this Davis fellow can actually match John Williams' score.

Then again, since Williams ripped almost everything off from Stravinsky's Firebird and Rite of Spring (listen, and you'll know what I mean) aside from the JP theme itself and the brilliant Petticoat Lane, that's a pretty tall order. ;)

Still, I can't wait for the soundtrack. Does anyone know when it's due out in stores?

Sounds like good use of the classics...

However, I'm ready to stop READING about the JP3 score, and actually LISTEN to it instead!
