They have a similar product out there that scans barcodes and will take you to web pages about the products you scan. The thing with those is, it keeps a list of everything you scan and uploads it to the company who makes it. They can then tell what products people have in their houses. I find that an infringment of privacy. I don't know if this product does the same thing, but I find it odd that it needs to be hooked up to a computer. With todays technology they could easily and inexpensivily create something that can create powers from barcodes that acts independently and doesnt need to be installed on a PC.
