Also in the script Ellie tell Grant to "please Ask if he needs help"----well later on as we know Grant makes a frantic call to Ellie while on the island. I believe this call is for Grant to ask Ellie to help them get off the island...therefore Ellie tells Marc and he arranges for a rescue team to come save them. He is the one greeting them on the beach.
