I can live with a non-playable demo. Not like I would have a chance to play it anyway.

Metroid will be at E3... but in video form... looks like Retro Studios were too lazy to make a playable demo, heh.

I really do look forward to the Gamecube. It would be great to see Nintendo back on top after the N64. But I still maintain that while Nintendo has some great developers working for them, the actual company itself exists for the same reason every other company exists for. It's a cooperation like any other.

If Sega had any sort of success with the Dreamcast, they sure as hell wouldn't have left it to die, but they didn't so they had to reassess their priorities. There were other ways to keep the company alive, like striking a deal with Microsoft or something, but instead they decided to return to third party status to the benefit of everyone (except for all the people they laid off, of course ^_^)

I've got to get to class, later.

Well, actually Sega stopped the Dreamcast cause they lost $500,000,000 with it... so they either had to become a third party or die.

Nintendo is not just in it for games... Nintendo makes unbelievable amounts of money, and with that money they make great games (Legend of Zelda: OoT anyone?).

The GameCube is going to be a serious contender, even the hardware demos looked better than what the PS2 has to offer now, and I'm sure there will be some big surprises at E3...

Nintendo's in it for the money like anyone else, that's all corporations care about. The big “N” may have a narrower focus than Sony or Microsoft, but the importance of the bottom line is the same. The ones who care about gaming are the game designers, the people working for Rare, Square, Capcom, et all. I'm no Playstation worshiper, but when Nintendo's CEO went bonkers and dropped the ball with the N64 the Playstation picked up the slack. This wasn't because the console manufacture gave a damn about gaming but because there were enough quality developers in league with the system. The console doesn't matter, it's who's making the games. Sega understood this, that's why they gave up the console wars to work on what was really important. If Nintendo cared about gaming in the same way they would do the same.

That is the coolest Game T-rex ever, besides the one in dino crisis 1 and 2.

Is there a PS1 version coming out or a PC action game besides the educational ones?

But they ARE dead in the hardware sense, and to me that makes all the difference in the world. Now the console race is between three companies, two of which are just in it to make some extra cash, and ONE that's dedicated to gaming.

    That's a sad thing indeed.

Sega is not dead, just not in the hardware business any more. I personally think it was the right choice, because software has always been their bread and butter anyway.

At 10:37:52 AM on 5/9/2001, Bishop said:
Man, I'd rather they avoid X-Box. Microsoft is buying up third parties left and right by tossing large sacks of money at everyone. Microsoft only wants to go into this business for the money. I'm just hoping, against all logic that says otherwise, that they fail miserably. I want companies dedicated to gaming to succeed. Like Nintendo, and Sega... wait, Sega's dead.

    God damn.

I think it's worth noting that the little label in the corner of the game image says the game's title is "Jurassic Park: Survival" rather than "Survivor."
