I'm glad there not hyping it all up. I remember i was hyped for tlw after seeing all the publicity it was getting and once i saw the movie i was dissopointed, so i felt like i wasted my time getting all excited about how big tlw was going to be.
Theres still a lot of summer movies that arent getting any hype. For example A.I. all i seen from that movie is a stinkin logo. At least for jp3 we got this web site. So we got to be happy. And plus, without all the publicity, maybe there still working hard on jp3 making it even better. But trust me once mummy returns comes out, Watch out for jp3. Why do you think mummy is being released in early may- to have a couple months to build up hype for jp3

Planet Of The Apes will come out a week after JP3 and it is slated to have three trailers before then (one is already out). Three!!! At the rate JP3 is at, there will probably only be one (the one before The Mummy Returns). And that sucks.
Like a few of you said, I don't think there is any "strategy" or "master plan." The idiots at Universal are just trying to cover up the many mistakes they are making with the production of this film.

its crap! We dont need over the top style of publicity, just a bit knowledge that u guys are actually doing this movie.....we could all go as far to say JP3 exists but thats it.....HOW CAN U NOT LET THE WORLD KNOW!...The "world" knows the movies, the "world" loves the movies, and know thw world wants to go back there one more time....but they dont know that they will be able to!

Neither Universal, nor, Johnson have 'secret plans' or so called 'strategies'; at least not very good ones. Clearly, the marketing departments, or whoever makes the call feels that TMR is the priority, and that JP3 can fend for itself without any help. It's like I mentioned in the 'Board today: Has Universal even heard of PotA!? Shouldn't they want to compete, or something? It's rediculous how much that movie is being promoted compared to JP3.

This is a good thing. Too much publicity will build expectation too high and disappoint a lot of people. Remember why TLW is seen (by some) as a (somewhat) failure? Because it was nothing what we expected. But this time, everyone is going in fresh, not knowing what to expect or having any preconceived notions about the movie.

Jurassic Park will have no problem finding publicity when it is released. I am just wondering how they will do the videogames TLW for PS was great and so were the JP games for SNES and Sega Genisis. They still could use the same characters but the dinosaurs seem much more detailed and bigger.

Meanwhile, there's a website (emphasis on the word WEB) called "sPiderman Hype". It has information on just about everything in the movie and it don't even come out till 2002!!!
