...Which is where they are storyboarding JP3. Good point, Pmba55. They wouldn't be storyboarding in a huge stage. That happens at Amblin. Stan's got his own shop. By the by, anyone have access to the Hollywood Reporter mag? It would probably have an update every week on the prep status of JP3 and who is involved, and most importantly who's doing the FX. I can get a current copy from a gaffer I know, he did Apocalypse Now, but he's not home much and it's not right around the corner to get to him.

Sorry but Stage 12 is way too big to be wasted on anything but set work and whatever is going on in there it has nothing to do with Stan or anything that he does. By the way, just where do you think Amblin's offices are? The same place that most of Dreamworks offices are. Universal City.

You guys assume quite a lot. The fact that Stan's not been making good movies will have no impact on his involvement in JP3. He wouldn't say "No" to being in on it, but the powers that be may say "No" to him. When TLW came out, there was some word floating around it would be the last of the big animatronic-CG mix. I am sure they'll use Stan's designs and he'll be a consultant, but with Episode I and Dinosaur out, will Joe Johnston even consider using Stan? I'd like him in on this too, but in this day, CG has really taken over and animatronics are no longer in the spotlight- which is really too bad, given the effectiveness of combining the two.

Of course Stan's involved. It's a given. Just not at Universal, which was the ponderings of what preproduction Universal is doing. I say, story board work.

I strongly believe, that Stan Winston will be doing the animatronic effects, too. He must have at least
2 tyrannosaurs, several raptors, compys and other
(working!) stuff in his garage. You don't throw away
    something like that!

Al Contrair my friend I am sure that Stan Winston will be in it. He has done all of the JP flicks and think: lately he has been doing movies that did not go that well so I imagine by looking at how much money Jurassic Park has raked in he will probably be in it doing the dinos.

I wonder what it is they're working on. They likely don't start building sets till June at the earliest, pending this is an August shoot, and Stan Winston has his own shop to build dinos (if he's involved which I'd doubt). Amblin has it's own production offices and dept's to do prep work in. If it's set work, JP3 must have pretty impressive sets to look at if they're already starting.
