Embryo just got an e-mail saying that they shot 140 minutes of footage, and that the first cut was 95 minutes and it is now probably longer.

Only 95 minutes?!?! Wow, that's a big difference from the first two movies! They were both at least 2 hours long. I hope they add some more scenes or something. I don't think a short JP would make us fans very happy....BUT, it is better than no JP at all!

At 1:56:56 AM on 3/20/2001, Utahraptor said:
Well, Macy did say they did about a quarter of a script each day. Guess that translates into 40 seconds a day. And it wa sonly rumros that it'd be longer/bloodier. But starngeley enough, it is more action packed. Too much actioned packed, really.

    At 8:32:43 PM on 3/19/2001, JP3MAN said:
I think they are just talking about how much they have edited so far. There may be another 40 minutes of film to edit.

    There's a fuckin' shit somewhere, i mean
IT DOES'NT MAKE ANY SENCE !!!
The shot of JP3 was 149 days long, remember ?
    (about 5 months)
Well, IF JP3 is REALLY 95 minutes long, well this means that they only did, about 20 minutes in a month, 40 seconds a day !!!
FORTY SECONDS A DAY GOD DAMMIT !!!
It aint serious, this GOTTA be wrong, i'd expect, somethin' LONGER, much LONGER than this, it'least longer than JP and TLW 130-140 minutes like. However, they said somewhere, maybe here, can't remember that JP3 "Will be the longest, more
violent and with more action in it of the trilogy"
And, it makes sence, trilogys ARE like than, Scream 3, Die Hard 3, ect...

Maybe, it's like the trailer news, this aint right, we've herd many things in the past. And they where false, from unknown sources.

No, there's gotta be somethin' wrong

By 95 mins in TLW, they were just getting up to the Raptors in the Long Grass scene. In Jp it was just after Muldoons death.

Oh good, 95 minutes will mean it will be in a higher res when I download it from a pirate movie newsgroup because friggin Universal have delayed the Australian release by so much and I dont see why I should have to wait so long....

At 8:00:08 PM on 3/18/2001, Stan Winston said:
I wanna see more than just action myself, not TLW all over again.

the average length of a film os only 90mins

    quality not quantity

At first i was like, alright 95 minutes, well it could be better, but then i realized, the extra half hour they could have thrown in like JP1 and JP2 doesn't have to be there at all, coz, theres no need to explain everything this time, it's just straight up, hardcore action all the way, and i can't wait to see it, thing is though, im gonna have to wait, another 6 months, coz i live in New Zealand!!!! I hope Final Fantasy isn't delayed like that either, same with Mummy 2, coz i want the Rock, and i REALLY want the JP3 trailer!!!

At 5:28:24 PM on 3/18/2001, JP Animal Control said:
Yeah it will definitly be longer than 95 minutes. Oh and JP3MAN, Macy said it was 45 minutes.

At 4:55:56 PM on 3/18/2001, Spinosaurus aegypticus said:
The thing is they're still piecing together all the shots they have, and 95 mins is the shots they have together so far. They don't have just 1 roll of film, they have to piece rolls together and then put them all on one roll.

    At 3:36:57 PM on 3/18/2001, JP3MAN said:
Do any of you remember how much film William H. Macy said they had seen?

    At 2:47:28 PM on 3/18/2001, TRex2001 said:
Man, that's pretty short for what they're saying "A lot of action." I think it will be at 110-140 mins long

    At 10:39:32 AM on 3/18/2001, Varan101 said:
And yes DH4 is correct, the CG doesnt add any time to the movie, cuz the shots are still there.

    At 10:37:57 AM on 3/18/2001, Varan101 said:
You can only run from the dinosaurs for so long before it gets monotonous, you know that.

Obviously, JP had the whole introduction before the action happened, so of course that is going to be longer.

TLW was simply too much. There was hardly an intro, the entire movie was running from the Trex, and the half hour long San Diego Scene made the movie way too repetetive.

JP3 doesnt need much of an intro because of the plot. Boom, you're on the island in five minutes. Boom, the action starts for the next hour and twenty five minutes, which is still the same length of action, if not longer, in JP....

    At 9:24:07 AM on 3/18/2001, DH4! said:
Guys it does not matter about the ILM shots. They will not add any more time to the movie. Right now they watch the movie without the dinosaurs and the spots are just empty. When they add in the dinosaurs it will be exactly the same except the spots will be full!

    At 6:18:43 AM on 3/18/2001, Horribly_Mauled said:
Well, if it is 95 mins, it is a brave thing to do really. If the story or script is unable to handle longer there isn't really any point in drawing it out too long. better short and sweet than overlong

At 2:24:21 AM on 3/18/2001, Utahraptor said:
THta's insane. See what all action does? And making it lonegr means adding, and when have they ever added in editing. Even CGI can't tkae up another half hour. Man, thes emorons have kileld JP. They'll defintely be a JP4. Jurassic Park 4: We Are So Sory For What We Did To JP///.
They should enevr have amde this movie. They obviously can't do it right. THe totally fake rumros make for a better movie. THey needed a rescue to return people there? They neevr heard ofa documentary, which actualyl makes snese. They'r eliving dinso for crying ou loud.
OK, if ti is considerbaly under 2 hrs, Expect it to bomb.

This movie BETTER be AT LEAST 2 hours long.

First, we don't know if it will be 95 minutes long.
Second, even if it is 95 minutes long, quality counts not quantity of minutes.

I contactedthem, and they actually replied apologising, adding that the movie will be "95 minutes long and rated PG-13."

At 9:59:32 PM on 3/17/2001, JurassicRaptor said:
The movie sounds like it has too many contributing factors to be THAT short. I mean lets draw it out.

FIRST- Grant and Macy on mainland, with supporting characters, 15-20 minutes

SECOND- Grant and co. high tail it the the island, yadayadayada, they're stranded. 20-25 minutes

THIRD- The group encounters MANY situations with spinos, Pteranadons, and rexes, including battle. 45 minutes

FOURTH- Raptors and cloning facility, 20 minutes.

FIFTH-Survivors flee, soldiers come on to beach. 15 minutes.

SIXTH- Survivors look back and recollect what happened, 5 minutes.

    SEVENTH- Credits 5 minutes.

So w/ my judgements it would be in the range of 125-135 minutes. Two hours and 5 minutes - Two hours and 15 minutes.

ok 95 mins, and there not finished the only way to make it longer is to add, about 20 more scences. Or they have actually only gotten half way through it....there really the only options. I am sure the including the CG shots because u dont peice a movie together and leave bits out

At 8:32:03 PM on 3/17/2001, Mark said:
95 mins....................................well x men was a short movie and that was quite good but i would'nt of thought this was the final time they have all the ILM shots to do and all that dont worry people.

It's still missing most of the ILM shots, you know... they aren't done yet. Obviously that time duration is ONLY what they have as of NOW...

    JP 2 hours 7 mins.
    TLW 2 hours 9 mins.
    JP3 1 hour 35 mins.

It's BS it's at least going to be 2 hours long.

Also as Dan said they're still editing and assembling the film, so it's not the final cut, don't worry people.

BS! that's a load of BS! they probably meant an hour and 95 mins. I'd say JP3 will be the longest of the 3. That's usually how trilogies work.
