While the male T-rex seems to be bigger than the female in TLW, in reality scientists believe the female was the bigger of the two. (From: 'Rancor')

Cinescape talks with Winston March 19, 2001

Cinescape was able to talk with Stan Winston regarding Jurassic Park 3 and some of the dinosaurs/effects we'll be seeing:

"One of the big things [the JP III team decided] was, 'Well, we've got to out-do the T-rex," says Jurassic Park/Lost World vet Stan Winston, who is once again creating life-sized dinosaurs for the production. He says they had to outdo the T-Rex from the previous two films, "So the Spinosaur is bigger and meaner and badder."

The humans who manage to escape (temporarily) from this new threat don't get to relax for long, according to the trade. They're menaced at every turn by a pack of Velociraptors. And that's not all, they've got to deal with an attack from above as well.

"You're going to see Pteranodons [a breed of pterosaur] in this, which are entirely another level of technical difficulty because we are dealing with a combination of animatronics, men in suits [and] wings that are beyond what we've done in the other movies."

Thanks to ComingSoon.Net for the alert!

Yeah they'll be blue-screened, like with how they did C-3PO in SW Episode 1. I guess they need people to flap the wings, or throw Alessandro Nivola around.

When does this magazine hit stands?

Yeah ive got a magazine somewhere, and its got a pic of Bob Peck in costume and onset with a big ol rubber raptor on him. There arent any leaves in the way either, hes in clear view.
Also, winston spoke in the making of Jurassic Park about the kitchen scene involving some bits with guys in raptor suits. And i dont think youll recognise the guys in the pteranodon suits. Theyll be practically invisible.

When the Raptor jumped on Muldoon, that was a man in a raptor suit.

Cinescape Shminescape, I'm waiting for the big JP3 issue of CINEFEX magazine! And you can bet that a POTA article will be in the same issue!! Unfortunately, the damn thing comes out so infrequently it will probably be late fall untill it's released. I think the issue on The Grinch is still out now...

Pteranadons and raptors at every turn? This is a good thing. The more action the better!
