The 1998 MTV movie awards featured Ben Stiller, Jeneane Garaffalo, and Mike Myers in the roles of Malcolm, Sarah, and Nick in a parody of TLW's trailer scene. In the parody, a giant Jay Leno attacks the trailer and is subdued by TLW's own Vince Vaughn, both appearing as themselves. (From: jurassiraptor)

A, that's what you mean with Dark Movies.
I think that JP was darker in the psycological way. The Lost World has that to, but JP was more surprising.

A underwater scene would be cool. Anyway does anybody remember ages ago there were rumours about a underwater thing like a Plesiosaur or a Ichthyosaur in JP3 ?

Nothing stated here has indicated any underwater scenes. The whole Killer whale is a comparison, to show another species that plays with it's food, not in the same local as they do.

and screw this whole issue on how "dark" the movie will be. I mean, of course it will have evil and dangerous themes. What action movies don't? And Alien 3 was not dark, psychologically or not. Sorry, but Alien 3 sucked. The difference between JP3 and the other JP movies is like comparing The Mummy to its upcoming sequel. The sequel will kick ass, sure, but the original is still the best, no matter how much effects are used to make it look cool.

well, when i first heard the part about killer whales, i thought that the movie would have underwater sequences with the predators toying with the prey (i.e Deep Blue Sea). But now that I realize how bad movies like that suck, I'm thinking the JP3 will be more along the lines of "Predator". I mean, think of the similarities. A bunch of people abandoned in the middle of the jungle who have to escape from predators who toy with them. And I agree with indianajones, animals in the wild don't usually go on killing frenzies like that. However, what I'm thinking of are the raptors. They're intelligent enough to do that.

by dark i belive u people mean evilish i think alien:ressurectionwas the darkest because of the attrocities in gene splicing and such so is thet whet you want in jp3?

So anyway. . . underwater scenes is what this sounds like, can the Pteranodons swim? :)

This movie can never replace an untouchable original, and that is a fact. The Lost World was better than nothing at all, and yes it was dark, I suppose "dark" is good but has nothing to do with making Good movies. And untill we see This movie (not just the trailers) we all need to stop freaking out. Yes, the excitement is killing me too, but I'm not writing bitchy replies for no reason. ;)

    There's my 2 cents.

    Killer whales. . ha

I have to respond to some of these comments. First, Dinosaurs were not monsters, they were real living breathing animals. To make these animals into blood- thirsty animals would go against everything nature has taught us about the natural world. Yes Orcas' are deadly predators but they are very graceful and beautiful animals. Go to SeaWorld to see what I mean. The Orcas' don't try to eat the divers everytime they get in the tank with the animals. Yes I am sure dinosaurs like T-Rex and the raptors would find us to be easy prey but this does not mean they would be ugly monsters. Predators in the wild kill not for sport (like we humans do) but do it to survive and do it only when nesscary.
Go to Africa and go out in the savana and watch the lions and other animals it preys upon. When these animals are not in hunting mode they usaully lay around and tend to social bonds.
During this time the deer and buffalo are weary and watch the lions but go about thier own bussiness. Now, when the pack is in hunting mode all heck breaks loose. The animals become very agitated and when the lions go for the kill a stampede can begin. This is a very good example about how the relationship between predator and prey plays out in our world.
I hope Mr. Johnston knows this during the making of this movie. The best advise is if you want to go see a movie where the dinosaurs are not portrayed as animals but as blood-thirsty monsters go rent the movie Carnisaur. Leave JP3 alone.
well there you have it, Dennis

I toatally agree, the coulour in a movie isnt what the term"dark"is used for in the movie world.Take for instence that ALIEN 3 is much darker than Aliens in the psycological sense.I really hope jp3 is a much darker side of the trilogy. The lost world was a lot darker than jp,but still not dark enough.More gore, and killings should do the trick...

A movie is not made dark by the colour of it. A movie is defined as dark if it has a certain content.

i.e. Indiana Jones: The temple of doom

or Back to the future 2 (arguably)

Lost World dark? It was full of colors! And light. But yea, night is dark when you don't have lights, i meen what do they expect? A completely black movie screen or something.

I thought the dinos always played with their food. T-rex pushing the car over the cliff onto Grant and Lex. or could T-rex reason a heavy object dropping on prey would kill it.

So far, it seems that this movie will be better than TLW, but worse than JP.

Old news, actually. They said the Pteranodons were going to play with their prey like killer whales some months ago.
