While all the dinos in JP are supposed to be female, the length of the horn on the back of the Parasaurolophus indicates that it is male. (From: Jake)

I want to see a raptor like this

If there's one thing I hate, its nonsense speculation. Guys this Pteranodon is perfectly fine with the tiny exception of no hair. The crest is perfectly accurate to the skull of a pteranodon ingens. This ptera WILL be in JP3, so don't bother placing it as a mutant, or thinking that it won't be in the movie. Its a Stan Winston maquette! Of course it'll be in JP3.

    At 10:08:51 PM on 2/28/2001, raptor13 said:
I doubt this will be in the movie...maybe this is just something that was considered for jp3...it looks too fake...nothing like the ones in twl...maybe there are different types...or maybe these are the one on nublar if it takes place there which i highly doubt

Actually the toys look EXACTLY like that and it looks EXACTLY like the toys.It looks mean and scary.

still it is a different crest than the tlw i place it as support for my genetic "mutations" hypothesis

At 3:57:51 PM on 2/28/2001, Acrocanthosaur said:
I prefer the coloration from TLW. Also, its crest should go straight back, not tilted up like that. It could also use a little more texture

At 3:05:31 PM on 2/28/2001, Tango said:
He said just kidding. :) Both Pteranodons seen in TLW and JP3 are the species Pteranodon ingens.

At 2:35:19 PM on 2/28/2001, gribblikk said:
wEre u even paying attention? its a known fact that there is a major hangglider scene in jp3

At 2:06:36 PM on 2/28/2001, Carnotaur said:
Does this mean there are going to be pteranodons in JP3???? jk

At 2:04:58 PM on 2/28/2001, gribblikk said:
it has a differnt crest than the tlw pteranodons. it is narrow but the tlw pteranodons crests were wide

At 11:28:15 AM on 2/28/2001, Tango said:
Ya know what, nevermind that I asked. Sure its only a maquette, but when we see it on the big screen, it will look absolutely real!

What part looks fake? Just for my own curiosity.

I'm sorry to say it, but is looks a litte fake.

Crap. And I doubt Jack would tell them it's wrong if he likes it that way. The Raptor had to be big. It was in the stroy, and needed for fear. It'd be like listing to Hornere and making the T-rex a scavenger. How'd they egt stranded in the park, then?

At 11:43:18 PM on 2/27/2001, Tapejara said:
They have a thing for dinosaurs? LOL!

One question. Why does CHUD.com always call the dinos, "the 'sexy' new lizards". What the?

At 10:50:44 PM on 2/27/2001, Tango said:
Well for some reason since the discovery of Utahraptor was made during the making of JP, they thought it was ok to make the raptors five feet tall, despite the fact that they weren't in reality. I dunno why this is, but hey, not a tremendously big deal.

At 10:46:21 PM on 2/27/2001, Tapejara said:
Just cause Jack Horner tells them it's wrong doesn't mean they'll fix it, you think Jack Horner actually told them to make the velociraptors the size they are and featherless? No.

At 10:03:55 PM on 2/27/2001, Tango said:
Lol. Well he does exaggerate a bit, but still he is the most widely respected paleontologist in the world, and I'll take his side over anyone at Dan's. No offense of course. After all, if Jack wasn't on the JP team, imagine how primevil the dinos would look? Probably like something from King Kong or, dare I say it, Carnosaur! Ecchh.

Well you're right about the hair, but I don't think the forward head and neck is a problem. Paleontologists have always depicted them like this, as has every documentary. Plus if this wasn't possible, Jack Horner would have told Winston to fix it. The bill fits a Pteranodon ingens skull perfectly as well. It was not very narrow at all until it ended at the tip.

Well, for one thing, I'm fairly sure the bill is to wide. Now only that, but flying wioth the neck out like that would cause a bit of a balance problem.

Oh yeah . . . Pterosaurs are proven to have had hair.

Yup. That's not a _Tapejara_ whatsoever. That's a _Pteranodon_. I think the confusion came over the fact that Dan is associating the word "_Pteranodon_" with the word "pterosaur".

Wow, that looks ridiculously fake to me...The previous dinos were so authentic looking...this just looks like a cut out from a magazine...and doens't exactly resemble the toys in anyway.Hmmm...no teeth!

thats looks awesome, but definately not a tapejara, tapejara had the end of their beaks pointed down, and they had larger broader crests
