In an industry first (and probably last) 42 theaters across the US were equipped with special strobe lights which flashed in sync with the lightning during the TLW trailer. Outside, signs warned patrons to close their eyes if they felt sick.

Thanks Reddog. I figured it would be logical that they use '94 models. But I wasn't too sure. I still am not positive, but it gives me better direction. Thanks again

To Vader 2000: Jurassic Park was made in '93 so the vehicles like the Explorer and Wrangler are probably '93-'94 models.

The 'raptor' boat(we coined that name long ago, not knowing if it had a thing to do with raptors)was built from the ground up for the film. It does have a motor, which they used after filming started, but not to get it up the river to the set. I saw no signs in or on the boat that would require a release. They must be talking about another boat.

Maybe he sold it under agreement not to remove the logo.

I agree Raptorman, I loved that scene in JP, and wish that had been cut in with the aviary adjacent to the river. Reddog I agree. I love the damn vehicles. In fact I emailed Universal yesterday in hopes to use the JP logo and text to recreate the vehicles sometime in the future (probably 5 years or so), as I love the explorer with the painting and glass roof and the Jeep with all the extras. I have a '99 Wrangler, but it would look weird since it's different style than the one used. What year models did they use anyway? '94?

That boat was never real. Bob said it was just a large prop that didn't have an engine to move itself. It was moved by another boat ahead of it by pulley. And even if they did "borrow" it off some guy, I don't think he would have wanted to have it suck with hydrolics and have the internal workings removed, and have some crane stuff attackhed to the bottom. And if he was as generous to let them do all that, he sold it anyway, so he has no choice about some sticker. If you ask me, this is just a different boat. Nobody ever said it was a "raptor boat" but Dan.

The vehicles in JP and TLW ROCKS. I owned a 94 Explorer. Imagined having a glass top and all the red, yellow, and green colored stripes aroud it, that would be tight. I also think the Mercedes M Class OFF-ROADs are COOL. Either movie it's too bad the T-rexes fucked them up just to snab the kids (JP) and Eddie Carr (TLW). Sorry, I'd like to talk vehicles than boats.

hey there are five islands ya know "las cinco muetorse" or something like that...one is isla sorna...but what about the other 4 islands, there could be dinos on those too so maybe that's why we haven't seen or heard of the spino and the other new dinos in tlw or jp this movie could take place on one of those islands...just a thought

I hope in jp3 that the raptors, the rex and the spino can swim, so there can be water attack scens...and different packs of raptors one with head crests and one with not...and i hope they fight eachother...i'm getting carried away

Aqua attack spino huh? I'm really hoping that they re-create the river raft scene in the first JP book using the spino or something. that was always my favorite scene out of all the books and movies..

Yeah Dan's right they bought the boat and customized it, just like they did to the vehicles for JP and TLW.

The name "Raptor boat." is just a nick name Bob from HMT's gave it I believe.

I'm pretty sure they didn't make the whole boat from scratch, they probably built stuff (like the cage) onto an existing boat.

Well I guess that explains the "Aqua attack" spino figure, but why is it called the raptor boat?

I'm really sure that Grant and all escape in a Raptor boat.

It can't be the raptor boat because that was constructed at the Michael Lantieri studio.
