Believe it or not, guys, _Velociraptor_ really did have those sort of pinched nasal crests. That's two things Universal has done to try to correct their "raptors".

Looks cool, not as bad as i expected. I love the white and red stripes on the side. I hope it isn't a fake!

WHY IS EVERYONE SUCH A NIT PICKING CRITIC! WHY ARE THE EYES ARE A MILLIMETER OFF CENTER? MUST BE A FAKE! WHERE ARE THE NOSTRILS? MUST BE A FAKE! THOSE EYES ARE THE WRONG COLOR. MUST BE A FAKE! ITS FINGERS ARE TOO LONG. IT MUST BE A FAKE!

This is getting really old really fast, this movie is six months away, this picture is not a fake. If you don't like it, it's too bad. The colors match the toy and they also match the one that Stan had in the interview.

Well the Raptors Eyes are wrong it looks like a devil.

I think the thing that makes it look sort of bad is the size of the eyes. They're tiny compared to the first two raptor types.

Anyone notice there are one too many toes on the Velociraptor foot? Could be a clue as to the authenticity of the picture...

It looks amazingly scary. I hope this isn't a fake.

The "raptor" looks cool. But c'mon. The horns, and the entire head looks... kinda dragged. I could do this in a couple of minutes with photoshop. And more, the posture of this raptor is exactly the same as as raptor pic I have in some mag. The horns would look cool if they're real, but when did raptors get horns? we know nothing about eyecolor, but adding skeleton parts is just too much. I agree with Drakkenfyre

If this is real, what happened to Stan Winston's subtle changes?

Well, I do not like the feathered crests, so if this pic is not fake, I will be really unhappy, it is just plain ugly, and looks like a raptor with a Carntosaur head, I think they are changing them too much,

Those aren't horns. They are probably more feathers!

alright think about it its not a freaken fake its a new director he probly wants to make this picture
his the raptor isnt a fake
its just a different look at the franchise from fresh eyes
its not a drawing its laytex
any one can see that its an ananamatronic creature
as for the eye i bet its blind in that eye kinda of an evil leader of the pack mean as hell kinda thing it has the white strip like the spino i dont know what thats all about we,ll see

At 10:36:43 PM on 2/9/2001, Embryo said:
And, like the Spino pic they posted a few weeks ago, this has been edited to have a shadow.

I agree with Danfield78. Why would you bother to do this
trouble just to cause a riot. I'm saying it's real, because you can compare the image with the toy and it looks identical from this angle. Remember when we first saw the JP3 logo? Everyone said it was fake, and it could be done in Photoshop.... blah blah blah, and it was actually real. This definately looks real, and damn cool! Scary as hell!

At 10:16:56 PM on 2/9/2001, Drakkenfyre said:
The "horns" I am talking about are the protrusions above the eyes, in the possibly fake raptor pic,

I meant the crests on the top of it's head, which you guys are calling horns. They look more like crests to me. The feathered crests will be cool!

Right now It looked just like the previous raptors only it has a different skin color and feathers on top.

At 8:37:52 PM on 2/9/2001, reddog said:
Raptors don't have horns and don't have orange eyes. I can deal with the feathered crests on top. I hope they still have the same sound effects as they had in JP and TLW, it's awesome.

You would be surprised, faking a pic is not as hard as you think,

for those of you who think its fake...Who would go through the trouble to fake us out? Its not like JP3 has the starving for details kind of fans that say Star Wars of Lord of the Rings has. No one would go through the trouble to make this a hoax.

After opening both of them in Paint Shop Pro, and examining them more closely, both raptors do indeed look more similiar than I had said, both raptors have the same markings, and the picture of the raptor has a little red on him, whereas the toy has ALOT of red, I admit, this lends more credibility to the pic being real, but my feeling is still that it is fake, and done up like the toy, the head still looks edited, and the white streak looks fake, too, so we have two possibilites here,
1. The pic is real
2. Someone saw the toy raptor, and took a pic of a taptor, and made it look like the toy, assuming that is how the raptors would look like this time, and submitted it,
I go with the 2nd one,

This pic of a raptor figure(http://www.action-figure.com/images/01/uktf3/DV00172.jpg) admittedly looks a WHOLE lot like the pic of the raptor, and the strange orange eye color matches. however, the coloring in the pic is FAR away from the toy, and the horns, or ridges are in front of the eyes, not above them, and there are no spikes on the back of the toy, so it may just be that someone saw the picture of the toy, and did up a pic of a "real" raptor to look like it, it still looks fake to me, the blur lines at the top are what gives it away,

-Drakk )))

At 6:29:54 PM on 2/9/2001, Ultraraptor said:
You guys didn't look at the horn things on the toys did you, they are exactly like in the picture.

At 6:06:19 PM on 2/9/2001, mrContica said:
It acctually could be easily manipulated. I'm not saying it is. But the back of the dinosaur, the tiny spikes, easily done with some cloning. The head? Some clone tool there to and some changed in hue. It's not that difficult to do. Someone could have taken an old raptor pic, and just changed the colors in photoshop, adding the white lines and just doing whatever they like to it... It may be real offcourse, but it's very blurred.

the pic itself MIGHT be fake, but the raptor in it is real. Noticed that that white stripe looks strangely familiar to the one on the velo toy?

Trust me, it is not, the slight "blur" at the top of it's head gives it away, it is a morph job,

mark my words: this velo is definitely real. The original pic has been edited with some cheap program though.

The pic is fake, when you are used to working in paint and photo programs, you can usually tell when a pic is fake, and this one is, the part above the mouth up, or the entire head, is added onto a normal raptor body, the horns above the eyes look like a Carntosaur, and the eye glow is unrealistic, you can see the blurred "morphed/edited" look of the top part of the head, it is a fake,

Yeah sorry.. it's been all InGenNET this week (got promoted, yay!) plus I've been sick (stillo am a lil) so I'm on the touchy side.. So INgen is still breeding dino's.. and they've come up with a new kind of raptor..

i still dont Know its a pretty damn good picture but it dosent convince me. to many radical changes (if you can call those radical) to quickly.altough the chaos effect theory would be cool if two tribes of raptors faced off for territoryy kinda think.

For Christmas !!!

well i was thinking and maybe they are breeding differnt types of raptors or mixbreeds like chaos effect maybe it is a "spinoraptor" and the crested ones are "archaeraptors"

NOT REAL NAMES OF COURSE

Now I know why Dans has more stupid people (no offence) they don't look at things! Examine all the pics o the raptor toys we have so far: PERFECT match. this thing is as real as it can get. Photoshop 'glow' is just a nice finishing touch to make the pic look good.
Now try to fit it in the current storyL InGEnNET is still breeding dino's.
MAYBE, just MAYBE they are breeding raptors? and MAYBE those raptors looks different? "Well it does look fake because its sorta kinda totally different from the other raptors".. it's defenitely real.

The little horn bits resemble those on the spino. i think its a fake myself, the eyes look weird and orange oh and where is the featherd head crest seen every where else.
