In the JP novel, the DNA sequence listed at one point actually translates to a section of chicken DNA, the words 'MARK WAS HERE', and 'NIH'. (From: 'Drakkenfyre')

Well, that large purple (Raptor? Dilopho? can't tell, really, but I'd say...) Raptor looks like an authentic Dinosaur line item. It doesn't seem to have any of the 'usual' points of posabbility. They're probably under the skin, on a skeleton underneath

Also, no one forget that this line is supposed to be divided in three... RE-AK Attack, Site C (or B, depends where you lean towards to. Yes we had the large eggs in America too. Actually, the Velociraptor and Triceratops eggs originally came out in the Jurassic Park line, and then were repainted and sold through The Lost World line, along with a brand new baby T-Rex egg. Maybe this time we'll get a Spinosaurus egg. It would only make sense.

At 11:46:52 AM on 2/4/2001, T-rex vs. Spinosaurus said:
I just went to the www.actionfigure.com site. These toys are extremely cool. I wonder if that scene with the and the spinosaurus both charging at the kid will have something to do with their battle. Like for instance, they fight over who gets to eat that kid (who I'm betting is Eric, since he was the first one to end up on the island, and the fight between T-rex and Spinosaurus was supposed to occur in the first 10 minutes). Another possibility is that this is the part where the t-rex might make a comeback and beat the spinosaurus in a second matchup, witch would make sense, because T-rex has always been the kind of hero even though he ate people, since he was just a hunter doing his job. Examples of the way they try to portray T-rex as a sort of hero are in the ends of both of the first two, when T-rex saves the people from the raptors, and when they try to make you feel simpathy for him after he's shot with the tranqulizer by Sarah. Therefore, I think they might do that again, having T-rex get beaten early on by Spinosaurus, and then later on in the movie, as that seen with them both next to the kid I believe is Eric, mybe T-rex kills the spinosaurus just before it can get to Eric and eat him, saving the day, since the rescue mission would be totaly meaningless if Eric got killed. But then it's also possible that it had nothing to do with any scene from JP3

The ones you get will B different.(hopefully 4 the better) The rex, I know loox pretty whack, but I'm sure it's juvinile, and the upper jaw is kinda flexible. Remember AmargosPinus? And we forgot something guys, the spino and rex are just the re-ak atak, not the real deluxe ones. These are just the ones that open there mouth and stuff, tht's why the face is a little odd. Also the spinos and rexes teeth are way too big, but that's the other reason for it. I guarentee you all that the next spino and rex we see will look just like em. Thanks for showing interest in the site that Dilophosaurus and I are creating. Currently the site is in its absolute final stages and we hope to release it to you eager JP fans in the early spring.

Giganotospinotaurus: You're right! It looks like a censor in the dino-damage wound. That is very inventive. Also notice (from what I can tell) it looks like that instead of a number next to the "JP" branding, we're getting three claw marks, a la the JP3 logo.

Boricua Prowler: Considering the pictures we currently have, its kind of difficult to determine its size, but judging by how long it appears to be next to the "yellow-car" and the figure inside it, I'd say its about 10 to 12 inches long. That's my educated guess.

P.S. On another note, you haven't watched Disney's Dinosaur until you've seen it on DVD. It's amazing.

ok we all need to except a few things. the humans from the Jp lines never really look like the actors they represnt. Does anyone remeber the originla Dennis Nedry? i mean who the hell was that? secondly, would they be cool and fun to play with if they were all skinny little bithc and had microscopic handguns? NO! As it was already mentioned scale is not an issue, becasue i mean come on as long as they're bigger than the humans right? and the complaing about repainting and retooling? come on. how many times can the same company make a bloody raptor? they ARE going to look similiar. i for one love all things jurassic, even if they arent perfect. no toy is. soory fellas

Yeah, but the dinos the figs come with are a lot bigger than the babies they used to come with in the last three lines. I think it's more realistic... imagine a baby Trike attacking Eddie Carr and he'd haveto defend himself with the grappling claw launcher. Kinda odd huh =o) They just.. they're great, it's like Hasbro finally realized something or... something =o) Best thing is, I don't have to choose wich one I'm gonna buy first, 'cause I got all my xmas money just for that =o) Hehehe... btw, Tango, think you could get a measure on the Trike in the old picture ? It kinda confuses me...

The only thing I am not so sure about is the Re-Ak Atak. I bet all the dino toys have dino damage areas just so they could put the censors in them. If you look at the spino's dino-damage it has a little square something in it. Probably a censor.

Boricua Prowler, Dilophosaurus, and myself all love the JP toy lines so much that we've dedicated websites to them, and from what you've heard from us, we LOVE them. I don't understand the attitude, really. The paintings are great, and guys, stop saying there are repaints, because they ARE NOT REPAINTS. Susan IS NOT a repaint, I have the Congo fig you guys are talking about and IT'S NOT THE SAME. It's not Ellie either, Ellie did not have so much hair. At least we can say that one raptor is a RESCULPT of the Cyclops, but not even that qualifies as a repaint. They're great, I for one am using my money to get them all, it's the best way in wich the films live on. And about the scale... what about the Jr. T-Rex from JP or the one from TLW. Were those to scale ?? I thought so. The one from JP was just young and the one from TLW was definitely not to scale. I don't see what the complaining is about, they're magnificent. In my eyes, Hasbro has finally paid attention to JP.

    At 4:15:26 PM on 2/2/2001, Horribly_Mauled said:
Right there, scale isn't an issue, but these aren't the top of the line, I guarantee it... look at JP3 at www.entertainmentearth.com for some details of the entire range

At 4:06:00 PM on 2/2/2001, Dilophosaurus said:
Well, a couple of things. That is actually not a Cyclops repaint, it's a reflection of the Cyclops and is probably a new sculp all together. Notice the leg positions and more prominent toe claws. Secondly, these paint jobs are not rushed. Look at the color fades and patterns on these figures, they are amazing although not consistent with what we already know about the JP dinosaurs. Also, scale is not an issue in the toy world. These are not museum replicas. I would not be surprised if these aren't the large ones already, and also there are many more figures to see from what I undertand. Mainly re-ak attack and hatchlings.

    At 3:52:41 PM on 2/2/2001, drgrantjp3 said:
These figures suck, the dinosaurs paintings are rushed, and the damn female figure, Susan, is a repaint of either Ellie(Season 1) or the lady from Congo which was a repaint of Ellie(Season 1). Hasbro is the worst toy company ever and used to be great, but they suck when it comes to Jurassic Park. If that is Grant in the white shirt or even on the bike I'm gonna be pissed. It's like when they made Ian for TLW, he never wore glasses in the film. The only good figures were for JP where Ian malcolm looked great, but as usual they come with a monstrosity of lame weapons that are larger than their bodies. So far the figures are okay, better than the LW figures(because they based TLW figs on the book) but JP1 figures are still number one.

The raptor behind the figure on the bike has no head crest. Niether does the cyclops repaint. Hhmmmm...

The human figs look about as cool as the ones from the other series. The raptor with the crest looks awesome!
The rex and spino look really cool and more posable than the original JP toys.
But the spino looks too small. Maybe it's the juvenille.

    At 2:15:06 PM on 2/2/2001, Horribly_Mauled said:
Hey Guys, I wouldn't worry, theres a simple explantion for the size of the Dinosaur figures:

In one of the pics, you can see a sign (I think it's next to the small, red colored Raptor) thats says that the dinos in the pics are to be priced at £6.99 in the UK, which is roughly $10. These dinos are simply the cheap option, and Hasbro have yet to reveal the LARGE, super-de-duper deluxe Dinos (Like the huge Spinosaurus?) that will retail for $56

I think this is a pretty good-looking toy line. The T-Rex is apparently immature and it's jaw looks articulated which may account for the odd head sculpt, and as for the Spinosaurus' spine size...you have to remember a full grown Spinosaurus could have been up to 40+ feet in length and this one looks to be an immature one about 20' long. I wouldn't get too hung up on the minute details though, just be glad we're not looking at another mass re-release ala Wal-Marts exclusive line. I for one am looking forward to collecting this set!

What happend to the dinosaurs? They look like monsters! I liked the previous rexs and raptors. There is no way I'm buying these figures.

Hmm, I dunno. I still think its Grant. It looks just like Sam Neil to me, plus the figure doesn't have a moustache, which Paul does have in the movie.

    One thing's for sure though:

    These toys rock.

I am too friggin' happy over these toys. Looks like everyone got what they wanted when it comes to raptors too: a completely new sculpt!

That T-rex is bad, the T-rex of lost world was the best.

First off... I don't know what's up with the raptors, they look superb. Too great to be true. I think most people will back me up on this. But Tango, I don't think that's Grant, I think that's Paul, look at the JP3 still, then at the fig. And the clothing. I think it's Macy. And I also love the Brennan fig, it's awesome !!! And look at the detail on the glider, great. So far, my fave is the motorcycle.

As far as these new toys are concerned Im rather dissapointed. First off whats up with the new Rex? It just doesnt look as good as the earlier ones (no one can touch the Rex from JP line!) The spino is good (sail is a little small though) the only other dinos I have seen are the Raptors, Trike, and part of a big Pterasaur. The Raptors, well they have been done before no big deal right?? I mean just give em a new paint job and sell em to the masses! The Trike??? Whats up with it, the thing is Way too small (again the one in JP line was good). The pterasaur, well lets just hope it isnt another repaint of the queztalocus*. Untill I see some more variety with the dinos Im not gonna be pleased at all!

Hey guys, from what I can see here, none of these figures are repaints. I also don't think that Spino we're looking at is full grown, because the pic from scifiexpo.com shows a Spinosaur that is much bigger, and sports the colors of the "CGI Spinosaur" pic we've seen previously. May also mean the same thing for the T-Rex. All in all though, I think these toys are all prototypes. I think we'll see noticeable differences when they're actually released. That Billy Brennan figure looks great too! I love the pteranodon and glider he comes with. Anyone else notice the huge pteranodon behind Eric Kirby? Another fine toy.

And to the person who asked, I do believe the Alan Grant figure is the one in the white shirt with red bandana (ala Grant in JP). Looks just like him!

Could be like... the Raptor Queen or something... a la Aliens ?? It'd be cool...
And you know what I like ?? These tiys finally have a lot of detail. Look at the humnas... and the bike. It's pretty realistic.

Another comment...I had to take a second look. Has anyone else been wondering if that crested dino is acutally a Velociraptor? Could it be a Utahraptor or some other form...I'm not sure if they specified. My reason for this, is notice the three raptor toys. The one beside the bike has no crest, then the standing on does, but in addition has two smaller dilo crests. The redish one actually appears to be a cyclops repaint, I am almost certain it is. You can even make our the claw marks on the back.

These new figures just rock! They finally made the human figures look like the real actors. And I agree with Suchomimusinjp3 those raptors
are not repaints. It looks for
the most part that they started fresh and tried to steer clear of the repaints. The only thing that I am disapointed in is that friggin Spinos sail. It is way to small! And he also looks really small in comparison to the Eric Kirby figure. And where in the heck is the Alan Grant figure? Is it there and I just did not see it yet?

Uhhh, as cool as some of them look, they don't seem too JPish. I mean, the Pteranodon is not a hatchling or a figure and that one raptor has no points of articulation. They look kind of over done to me, but hey, maybe they're different in person. I do think the Rex looks pretty neat though, I like his feet. My only question is why? Perhaps it's not a rex.
