People in the books there was a dilophosaurus that was yellow and red, the raptors were yellow brown and had red stripes, and the t-rexes were also a reddish color. In the movies however there is a theme with all dinos being green or brown or a combination. The exception being the parasaur and the gallimimmus. I would hope that the spinosaurus is a different color in the movie then in the screenshots.

I don't know, I think it sounds alright. The T Rex's had bits of blue in them in TLW, we already have another blue dino, whatever it may be. A blue ish coloured spino could look really good.

Well, Star Wars : Ep II and III are both being shot in our Fox Studios in Australia. But, that has nothing to do with this topic! IT IS AUSTRIA NOT AUSTRALIA! And it's likely this Spino was a small 1/4 marquette. The colours could have changed, but I think the colouration is pretty damn COOL!

guys, ok, let me post this. Fox has studios in Australia, and many movie scenes are now shot in australia. Now guys, its not too unlikely that this could have aired on an station there. As for the color, as someone said, it could have beemn a preliminary model, remember that when objects are recorded onto film, the color appears differant. For example, a tv show( ex. a soap opera) whose set is supposed to appear white, will be painted a vanilla tan color. So don't go jumping on the films ideas for colors too much. Just thought I would throw that in. Thank you. And remember, "Life will find a way"

The rex is actually both a predator and a scavenger, something like a bear. The spinosaurus is a fish-eater, like a crocodile (look at its teeth and note the similarity). That would make its habitat somewhere in and around lakes, rivers, and swampy areas. Plus, I looked this up, and the Spinosaurus is not as big as they say it is. In real life, it was actually about the same size as T. Rex (they were both 40 feet long). Now, two questions.

    1) Have you ever seen a blue crocodile?

    2) In a fair fight, under fair circumstances, could a crocodile take out a 40-foot grizzly bear (please do not mention the theatrical exaggeration used in Lake Placid)?

you know what's wrong with godzilla? It's a Japanese idea in America. Not to be racist or whatever, but everybody knows that any Japanese idea "given" to America sucks. Look at Pokemon!!! Damn that sucks beyond compare. Sorry, Dan, for posting such a word of blasphemy on your site!

he said 3 meters, not 3 feet. 3 meters equals roughly 13 feet.

At 11:52:56 AM on 12/28/2000, dinosniper said:
ok it's obvious that the three-foot dino they were talking about is only a model, at about 1/4 scale, for the actual spino. The spino itself is that mustard color, like some of you have mentioned. Its pretty obvious when every picture of the spino we've seen so far is the same color. Hint: the arm Winston showed us, the picture of the jaws with Stan's arm reaching through them, the picture of that green eye looking up...those are all the spino. They're all the same color. And there is no way the spino is kicking the t. rex's ass!!!

Don't worry. The most butt-kicking dino in all of JP won't be baby blue. We alreayd know the T-rex isn't going to be baby blue.

ummm... no... i personally think this gentleman in austria (not australia!!!!!) is seeing things... the stuff we've seen so far has shown the spino to be a dark yellow/brown colour. i honestly hope the most butt-kicking dino in all of JP WONT be "baby blue"

What other dinosaurs did they preview? Maybe this is just the female like stated in other posts

Actually... it could just be the prototype. Stan Wisnton Studio DOES make color prototypes of the animals... read The Making of TLW and JP... It was probably not the final model. Just an old one. Personally, I think the JP3 crew is taking the Spino deal pretty stupidly. I think they should never show it until the film opens, like Godzilla. But before you say anything... JP is NOT Godzilla ´98...........

There were rumors of a juvinile Spinosaurus, perhaps this explains the size of 3 meters. As for the colors, it could very possibly be the color change ability.

Or sexual dimorphism. Males are all blue and purty while females are yellowy brown.

a 3 metre long Spinosaurus??? THREE metres isn't it more like 12 metres long.
(I suppose it could be a maquette. However we have all seen the head of a blue dinosaur AND parts of the spinosaur that are yellowy brown.

    WHAT IF.....

The Spino is being given the camouflage / chameleon abilities that Chrichton gave the Carnotaurs in TLW the novel. This could explain how we have blue Spinosaurs and yellowy brown ones.

    Just a thought.

    happy hols everyone.
