Actually, in the debate over Pikachu's gender, they took into account when Pikachu seemed awfully chummy with another, and pondered if it was gay love.
But Pikachu is most liely a guy, taking itno account a male dominated society. course, no original Pokemon has a gender, except the Nidoran. But in Gold and Silver, you learn about the Pideys and the Buzzdrills.
However, a few sure seem female to me. Vulpix, Chancey, Blissey, Jigglypuff, and Goldeen.
