His Batman Theme after a while even replaced Danny Elfman's in my mind (at least for the running time of the movie). But to JP 3: I really would have apreciated another composer than Horner. When Williams themes are being kept, someone like Joel McNeely or John Debney IMHO would be better choices to adapt Williams AND create something truly independant. This unfortuately isn't Horners strenght, as one can see (or better hear) in his more recent efforts like 'Deep Impact' (basically the worst parts from 'Titanic') or 'Mighty Joe Young' which hardly wasn't any original or remarkabel at all. But that's just my personal opionion, here...

If I were to pick replacements however, James Horner would be at the top of my list. As long as he keeps the Williams JP theme in the score, he should do a pretty good job. But the last time this kind of thing happened, it was Batman Forever. Tim Burton handed the directing reins to someone else, became a producer instead, and they hired Elliot Goldenthal to compose the score and completely ignore the Danny Elfman music from the first two Batmans. Sounds pretty familiar.
