Hey. I'm pretty new here, and just now figured how to log in. But anyway, something I might point out as an idea is this: The building in that picture looks to be more the aviery. How ever that's spelled. THink about it. The Pteranadons and the cliff face? There was an aviery in the first book. Perhaps they're showing parts of Nublar that wasn't in the first movie.

The Costa Rican military couldn't have bombed the island because it's one of five countries that doesn't have an active military. Maybe it gets dammaged in an action scene. Or maybe it isn't finished yet. Who Knows?

If you look at some production scetches, they draw the visitors centre near a cliff.. really...

They did indeed bomb the island, but then, the movies and the books aren't exactly twins...

That be cool if they putting so much work into the visitors center, maybe we will get to see the whole thing not just, the entrance, the dinnig hall, and the lab, etc.
P.S. The cliff reminds of The Lost World (Sir Connan o' Doyle's version, not Jurassic Parks

I havent read JP in some time. However, for some reason I thought in the end of the book the Coasta Rican government bombed the island to destroy the threat. My memory might be wrong, it has been a few years since I've read JP. Maybe my mind just came up with that ending. I have to re-read when i get home.

I finally have the collector's edition of TLW! The deleted scenes are seperate and not totally finished, though. The lighting and everything is bad. They said compensation for the family of John Arnold like in the book-not Ray Arnold like in the movie. I thought both of those scenes were important-especially Roland's. I don't know why they cut them-even though they said the audience didn't really need them.
Well-the wall's big, but for the most it's just scafolding so...

I don't think that operation center's build to look bombed upon. I'd say the set isn't finished yet.
As for that cliff: It shows the people who are making this film care a great deal about their little project. Looks like they spared no expenses. ;)

I was thinking, they probably could have flown the cast and crew to the Grand Canyon for what that thing cost.. :)

Yeah man, no sh1t, that thing's gotta be 10 stories+, WTF are they thinking? Do a couple stories and CGI the rest, they'd already have the set done by now if they went that route! Of course, building an entire cliff face to scale for one film (and one scene probably), is hella cool!

THEY BUILT THAT ENTIRE MOUNTAIN FOR JURASSIC PARK 3? THE THING IS HUGE!

Do ya think it was bombed when they "supposedly" killed the dinosaurs?

You are right that is not the visitors center. It looks totally different from that building.
