I think that the sbplot of this film will be Grant and Ellie getting back together. Like in Twister, the two main characters are divorced, but after all they go through, the man dumps his fiance and Helen Hunt gets back 2gether with him. Grant will return from JP and after all he goes through, will kiss and make up with Ellie - in a more dramatic way.

Hold on to your butts, I figured it out. Grant and Ellie (are you ready, and sitting down) HAVE LIVES! So other people can actually be there, like a boss, or realitive, or nanny/babysitter or doctor (they could be rich), or they could be swingers or enjoy a threesome.. The only indication to trouble in paradise is "Grant's baby", indicating they broke up a while ago, and Grant married another. And why even call Ellie if they're apart? Mark ain't Ellie's husband. This terming can be to show Grant's reluctance to go. Maybe Mark's Grant's clone. Butw e have no reason to belive Ellie and Mark are married. Must you all over react to everythign thatdoens't indciate the greatets sequel ever? It's as annoying as complaing that a Raptor might sit in a plane seat eating roasted peanuts and carrying on a conversation in Grant's dream. Did you ever thing Mark might have been sent to request Grant go to the island? Maybe Mark's decke dout in a Utah Highway patrolman's outfit. Ever think of that? What is this, All My Dinosaurs? As The Paleontologist Dig? Sheesh. Provide one valid piece of evidence that indicates Ellie and Mark are together?

Im sorry Goldblum. For once I must dissagree with you. I don't think these scenes are too dramatic. If there were too many, yes, but I don't think from these few scenes It will make JP3 too dramatic. Besids, if they do show Grant, then fans are going to want to see what happend to his relationship with Ellie. Oh well. I think her in JP3 is a GOOD thing!:-)

I dunno... are they really going to put all this melodrama in a JP film? I'm sorry, I really like Grant and Ellie, and I want her to play a function in the film, but all of this may be too dramatic. I mean, critics complained in the first JP that there wasn't enough focus on the characters and drama, then they put more work into characters and drama in the second one and got blasted by fans and critics for that (how many people actually liked the Kelly-Ian subplot?)... isn't this all too mopey for JP?

JurassicRaptor: In the novel, Alan and Ellie were not lovers at any rate. But Spielberg chosed to depict them in couple, loving eachother. So it would be a bit contradicting if they decided to make them divorced in JP3.

If they are not together that wil suck, but if it is isn't a main part of the story I'll deal with it, hope they are married though

At 5:43:52 PM on 10/17/2000, JurassicRaptor said:
Sorry guys, it sounds like Mark is Ellie's husband. I mean Ellie had married some-other guy in TLW novel. And plus wouldn't Ingen try everything to keep the accident under-wraps? Including separating everyone, and relocating them. AND Jurassic Park really isn't a love story people. I mean imagine the comments: "Is Grant f@#%ing dumb?!? He's married and going to get EATEN?!?!? What a dumb@$$!!!" Face it Grant and Ellie can't be all luvvy luvvy, kiss kiss. It's the nucleus of bad relationships.

    At 5:41:20 PM on 10/17/2000, Gladiator6k said:
this is confusing... but atleast ellie is in it!!

At 5:21:57 PM on 10/17/2000, HMT said:
Gee, maybe Mark is the nanny. He's the guy from The Bird Cage in those cute hot pants, or maybe, because Grant is a drunk, he is Grant's driver, or maybe he's Ellie's neighbor who comes over to cook dinner. Or maybe he's nobody, a friend of Spielberg's who needed a bit part to get his SAG card.

Well, if you guys read that very same news on Dan's page, everything there is clear. Grant is at Ellie's home... and later Grant is holding Ellie's baby, right before Mark comes out of the house...It's obvious.

At 5:12:50 PM on 10/17/2000, Gallimimus said:
Dan: I fully agree with you, although everything now seems to point on a divorce. Grant at drunk? Perhaps, but I sure wouldn't like this.

At 4:44:43 PM on 10/17/2000, JP Animal Control said:
They probably did have a kid. But (sadly) the reports we heard about grant being a drunk could be true. He could have became abusive. Ellie could still have loved him, but she left him because of his actions. Then Ellie met Mark. This sounds alot like I think will happen. But turthfully I hope I am wrong. Grant and Ellie belong together. Maybe at the end they will be. :) JP Animal Control over and out1

Mark could be the family's butler or something...maybe not...but ya never know...

Maybe Elie and Grant did get married, had kids, but then got a divorce but are still good friends, and maybe still have some feelings left for each other. Probably not though.

Well, why would there be a dinner scene involving Grant and Ellie in their house if their are not married or together, at least. Bob, are you really sure that Mark is Ellie's husband. If it's the case, it's quite sad. They really loved eachother in JP. Look at their faces in the helicopter at the end. Bob: I hope you are mistaken...

    Speak to Bob about it.

Yeah, Ellie's abck. Now if they'd just do a sequel and bring abck the kids.
But why Grant's baby, and not her's? Is it to indicate that Grant finally likes kids? Or did Grant fool around and gain custody? Or is this Ellie's problem?
