I'm sorry I didn't see your sarcasm GoldblumRules. I just didn't see it. I put a smiley face after my sarcastic line about reviewing a Star Wars DVD so that everyone would know I was not saying it to be mean but just to make a joke. Anyway sorry. Chapter 11, next time you go to a Blockbuster or any Video Store for that matter, ask the employees if they get the movies early. Most of the time Blockbuster gets the movies 2 or 3 weeks before they are supposed to come out. After we prepare them to go on the shelf we put them in our storage room and then put them on the shelf the night before the day of their release which is always on Tuesdays. Please don't read this the wrong way I'm not trying to be mean or anything. It takes alot to get me angry, I'm not an angry person. If anything it hurts my feelings for someone to think I'm lying because I just don't do that.
But anyway, if you are going to compare the DVD to my review I better correct something. I said that in TLW that the main menu is a T-rex "Foot" in the street. I forgot to put "print" after foot. I know that some people (I'm not saying you Chapter 11) like to get very picky with stuff like that and they throw it in your face:)
I hope this clears things up and that no one is angry with anyone. :)

OOps. I was gonna say that on the JP DVD and JP3 trailer, it zooms in to Isla Nublar's geographical position correctly. (Off the coast of Costa Rica)

Actually Spielberg was referring to Godzilla when he made that crack. "I'm 50 years old and I'm making a Godzilla movie..." then... "I'M 50 YEARS OLD AND I'M MAKING A GODZILLA MOVIE!" You've got to admit though, regardless of the final result, in the months before TLW's premiere almost all of us were just drooling at the possibility that dinos might be making it to the mainland. Now it's about the opposite for most of us.

I don't know if you'll see this post Mercona, but I suppose the sarcasm was missed on my earlier post. I was simply making a crack about how ridiculous the notion was that your DVD info on JP was fake. I'm not THAT paranoid. Thanks for the info.

    hmm....

Right then and there, someone should have told Spielberg that Crichton made a really cool book that was much better than his sorry movie.

One thing always sticks out in my mind about Spielberg's reaction to TLW.. I think it actually was in that Time magazine story.. he was sitting in a chair on the set, head in his hands, and said something like, "I'm 40 years old and I'm making a monster movie.." Then he followed that up with, "I'm 40 years old and I'm making a monster movie!"

I didn't mean to be offensive, just stating my oponion. How can you do a dvd review when there are none to review!

I'm with the cows. They can get better parts than dinos nowadays (since 1990).
The JP Comics stopped around Sept 1995, after TLW was announced, thus canceling the 4 part story arc with the anxiously awaited return of Tim and Lex.
There were 9 Return to JP comics 1-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9 in serial form.

I do hope that GoldblumRules and Chapter 11 are not refering to the little tidbit of info that I (cameron) sent to Dan. I would hardly call it a review and why would you think it was fake. Why would I want to waste my time and your time. I was just simply saying that it has a sorry JP3 trailer. If you guys already knew that then great. If you are not refering to me then I am sorry for writing this. Also if anyone is interested, on the JP dvd there is a section called EARLY MEETINGS. It is a home camera sitting on the table filming Spielberg and Stan and the rest while they discuss the dinos. It was interesting the way Spielberg refered to ET. Also there is a section called LOCATION SCOUTING and Spielberg is walking down a trail discussing a cool Brachiosaur scene which obviously wasn't shot for the movie. He then sees a herd of cows and makes a joke asking the cows if they would like to dress up as dinos and be in the movie. Whats so funny about it is shortly afters he says this the whole herd turns and moves away. Anyway, besides that and a bunch of concept drawings and storyboards there is not much else. Now if you will excuse me I'm off to write a Star Wars DVD review so that I can get more attention. :)

off topic but: i the scene in tlw where the triceratops crashes through the tent, all u see is a head and sheets over it. u can tell they only had a head and some wheels or something under the sheet thing

Gosh it's scary when someone fakes a review of a DVD and has basically nothing to say that we don't know about already. Talk about being desperate for attention.

Spielberg never made any indication he disliked TLW. It's a myth created by the fans that he doesn't like it. He certainly seemed pleased with it upon it's release (read the Time magazine article in which he tells them he feels the story and characters are better developed than they were in JP).

I don't know I've read some pretty mixed reviews of this DVD set. I might rent the JP disc, though why are DVD's still so darn expensive! 90 dollars US for the Double DVD set is like $170 Australian dollars, and that's for The Lost Word!!... I mean we're not talking high art here people. Stilll, no wonder there's none of Steve's commentry on TLW, could be difficult since he has refuses to watch it, if anything they could have just mixed in for him in a soundtrack of groans and uncomfortable fidgeting;)
