One thing: Theyre Pteranodons, not Pterodactyls. There is huge difference (literally). Pteranodons had wingspans the size of small planes, and Pteradactyls were no larger than birds or bats.

Another idea is that Miles was in the boat with the para sailing people at the time and when it gets sunk cos of the flying dinos he crawls onto shore. then his father alan grant and the military guys come to rescue him.

Then he the kid and a couple of others get trapped on the island so the military guys and Alan Grant(Cos he is a dino expert and has been there before) are hired to go on to the island to find the lost people.Then in that alleged scene with the plane being attacked grant and co are also trapped on the island and the two groups find each other and struggle to get off the island.

Someone could describe a scene in Jurassic Park and it not sound that good. Like if someone were to say A fat guy slips and rolls down a hill. Then he treats a dinosaur like a dog to try to get it to go away. The guy tries to get his car working again, then a dinosaur spits on him and he drops a shaving cream can. I think that's one of the best scenes in Jurassic Park, but I had to see it before I fully judged it.

I think this is an incredible setup for the kid getting stranded, that means Macey (the Dad) would be in Costa Rica probably, so that's good. The kid gets attacked, his line is cut, and he crashes just shy of the beach, and crawls his way up onto it, hence him being on the island. The 'Dactyl's ignore him once he plummets away into the water and attack the guy in the boat, sinking it and totally tearing the dude up, so the kid's stranded. How Grant figures into this, I don't know, Macey knowing him and suddenly saying, "Hey Grant, come to Costa Rica and help me find my kid," doesn't work. Maybe Macey knows of Grant's experiences there, and that's why he asks him to come...

In the original it was the young worker attacked by a Raptor, and then in the second it was Cathy, according to Hammond or someone she didn't live. Probably started that way to be similar to the others but was changed (By Helen Hunt perhaps?) to be more like the movies which don't have an afinity for child killing
