July 18th is the date Lost World was released here in England! I said on my site a few weeks ago that I dared Universal to release JP3 on an anniversary of either JP or LW.

I think it depends when they finish the movie, whether it be on schedule, early (very doubtful), or late.

That's really putting it out late for big summer fare. Not that that is a bad time to release a movie necessarily, but traditionally the last super huge weekend of the summer is Independence Day weekend or the following weekend. I honestly believe they can put it out Memorial Day weekend and still have plenty of time. I speculate their reasons for doing this however is this: 1) The Mummy Returns, another hot Universal sequel, will open May 12, and 2) Spielberg's film AI opens Independence Day week. Both parties involved want to space their big projects apart. Whether this is good for JP3's box office however remains to be seen. I think mid-June would be a perfect release date, right around when JP came out 7 years ago.

Nope, never officially. Just summer. Most believed July 4th, though. Sounded reasonable, anyway.
