There are probably some geographical features on more than one island that they want to film and edit so that it appears to be on one(or two)islands! Besides, those Hawaiian islands look similar to each other anyway.. . Good news about the shooting commencement though

Don't the Hawaiian islands all look very similar..? Same climate.. same general plant life.. so why not use another island if you need a different shot? Kuai apparently has rolling green hill thingies, maybe they need the other for it's volcanic looks. Caves/rocks were menationed lots in the books but i don't remember much of them in the movies.

I don't think there will be a "3rd island". There is probably just some cool place there for the movie, like a valley or waterfall etc. And if Dodgeson returns, do you think they will get the same, nobody actor to play him, like in the first JP.
