I am thrilled.. somewhat with the idea of a JP4.. some of the rumours I've heard make me wish this was a bad nightmare that I could wake up from.
I read in a couple of places that they had already done the dinosaurs, so now they were going for "genetic tampering." This idea makes me sick. So.. your gonna take a beloved film franchise where they brought as realistic as they could dinosaurs back to life.. and your going to shove it down the toilet to make a mutant film out of it just so it'll be scarier? That would make me literally make me cry. I hope I'm wrong, I really honestly hope I am wrong.
Was that Michael Crichton's or Steven Spielberg's original vision of Jurassic Park? They're idea was it as a magical place where real, living and breathing dinosaurs could be found. If you want to make a mutant film go ahead! I'll maybe watch it and love it! But don't put it under the title of Jurassic Park just to sell it.
If anyone can disprove this rumor for me I would quite literally be overjoyed.
Maybe ya'll may like the idea. But it would kill it for me..

I see it as any other franchise that gets too caught up in money. Spielberg doesnt really have much to do about it, but rather Universal.
Remember, "Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. " Same applies to the movie execs.
Jurassic Park deserves a reboot. A full on reboot with a direction that follows the books a bit more. Maybe not this year or next. When JP hits 21, I think its fair game.
I love this movie. I grew up with it. I do, like you said, live and breathe all of them, good or bad. But I dont want this series to stagger on a name alone. I want it to be a masterpiece, and it deserves to be one.
We, the fans, deserve it. If you just want a JP for the sake of having a JP, then watch the dvd.
Maybe I put too much into film, who knows. JP is my baby and I want to see it happy. I dont want to see Universal with fat pockets for throwing a name on something and saying "Look, there it is! Another Jurassic Park!"
We deserve better. I know your heart is in the right place.
I promise that If I ever get the money, I will go Chirs Nolan on the series and produce a JP series (2 movies mind you) that will make you cry tears of happiness.

Why do I visit this site? Because this site doesnt publish news directly about JP4, it publishes news about the entire franchise (Blu-Ray releases, Ebay auctions, deaths...).
I was a frequent visitor of the original JP fan boy site, Ingen.net, which was very much back in the day.
Im sorry that I actually have some respect for the franchise. Spielberg helping to write it doesnt change anything. Look at the wreck he made of TLW. When youre a kid and you see dinosaurs all over the silver screen, it doesnt matter. But as you age and follow the story lines, you realize how bad that movie actually was.

Jurassic Park went from a very good story line, to something directed very much at kids. I wonder how old some of you are to jump at the very thought of a JP4 and wonder if any of you got to experience the original on the big screen back in 93.
So my opinions come from 18 years of jurassic park. 400+ views of the first film and 250 + of both the others. Im not for a "Batman and Robin" of Jurassic Park. Sorry.
