And if they make it like R with a bunch of F bombs and stuff then it kinda ruins JP. If it had had too much blood and gore and a lot of cussing then I would never have seen it as a kid, and probably wouldn't love it so much today. I mean, dinosaurs eaten people, that's fine. But I like the violent, but not adults only type violence if I can explain that right.
Idea makes me leap for joy but what they how badly they could screw it up scares me. If they "completely" change it then it's not the series or characters we all fell in love with anymore is it?

Every day the presidents of Marvel, Warner and other studios talk about their franchises. Why the Unversal Pictures stay is silent about your projects???? If the Universal say something about JP, all the fans would be excited and interest for the film could be increased. This is Marketing, Ok????

The problem is, Hollywood misunderstood why The Dark Knight was so popular. It's not a sudden love of dark superheroes, it's the love of a dark Batman. One of the main problems with Batman & Robin was Bruce Wayne was too happy. Having him/Batman dark and brooding with a sore throat brought the character back to his roots. Try making everything dark, and you don't have hits. It's why any plans to make a dark Superman will result in a movie worse than Quest For Peace. And come on, that movie sucked on every level possible.
A dark Spiderman will fail because Spiderman isn't dark by nature. The only time he ever was dark, he was being controlled by an alien symbiont. And that translated into Dancer Peter in Spiderman 3.

Anyway, assuming you are saying it is a bad idea, then yes, I totally agree with you. I was so looking foward to the Spiderman story finally movie foward after a number of plots that have ran through the first 3 movies were finally concluded in Spiderman 3. I was also looking foward to seeing more villains show up. Now, though, we are just getting the same old story with the same old villains all over again, and of course they want to make it "dark" like The Dark Knight. Not every superhero has to be dark, especially lighthearted and comical ones like Spiderman and the Fantastic Four. (which they are also giving a darker reboot)

Anyway, the Monahan script was scrapped. It won't be used. They may use parts of it but the whole "dinosaurs with guns" concept was rejected almost instantly by Amblin heads. The artist who drew them told me himself. This was way back in 2004. So let's forget that.

Also, Joe Johnston did not fuck up JP3. He GOT fucked on JP3. He was given a limited budget and limited time - as in, so little time that the bad script wasn't even done when they had to start filming - and I think he did the best with what he had to work with. That is the only reason JP3 is actually a tolerable movie instead of "one big pile of shit". Were Johnston to be given proper time and resources and a good script and story to work with, I think he could make a damn fine JP movie, especially now that he has experience with the series and knows what works and what doesn't. Obviously I would prefer Spielberg but I seriously doubt that will ever happen.

For that reason. It seems that Joe is VERY involved with the new Trilogy JP and for that reason I thought he should have informed some dates (like the start of pre-production).

Neither of those sounds appealing nor worthy of the Jurassic Park name.
The other possibilty is a straight-up reboot or remake. Intriguing, but not ideal. I think we'd all rather have them build upon the existing canon than start something new or unrelated to what has been established and cherished.

"Very intriguing...however, I'm a little concerned he's already saying JP4 will be the beginning of a new trilogy. First of all, how different are the new films going to be that they need to be viewed as standalone from the original 3 films? Also, 3 additional JP films may be a bit much. I love JP - obviously - but 3 more films? Plus, each of the previous 3 films were more or less independent of each other, beginning standalone stories that weren't really continuations of the story in the previous films. I'm not sure how having direct sequels that are deliberate continuations of each other will work...especially not spanning over 3 films.
I'm very curious to see where they are going with this. I'm all for more JP, but as we all have painfully learned, more JP is not always a good thing. I really hope they can come up with another compelling story that can continue the story from the first 3 while at the same time taking it in a new fresh direction, but I'm kind of wishing they'd just focus on one film at a time instead of already planning out three. "

dinos can be in any movie, but those characters are like friends.
