Eddie Carr was originally supposed to be the "hero" in TLW, which explains why the Eddie action figure comes with the so-called "hero hat". (From: 'Salvester2')

I'm guessing a late 2007/early 2008 release. Which is fine by me

It usually takes 10 months from stat of filming to release (JP/TLW), and nearly a year from start of casting. unless the script is ready by Thanksgivingish, no, not XMas 2006. Summer 2007 is a good target date. That gives them until June 2006 to finalize the script, then make and send out sides, to start casting in July.

and... how about.... XMAS 2006???

is there any chance???

I am SO relieved to hear news from Spielberg's mouth regarding Jurassic Park IV. This is wonderful. I'm guessing Summer 2007.

I'm going with a Spring or Summer 2007.

junior ex how the hell would we get a 2006 release? the script isn't even greenlit yet, it takes months of pre-producion, months of production, and months of post. you are silly.

A 2006 release? That's not going to happen. If they got the script greenlit today, I wouldn't expect JPIV to be released until summer 2007. That's only if pre-production goes smoothly. It might not be released until 2008.

I disagree...all directors have bad movies. Spielberg's already had a few. He's made so many legendary movies and broken so many barriers that there is no way one bad movie will tarnish that. TLW wasn't good but it didn't effect his credibility. He's still known as one of if not the greatest directors in America of all time.
So if JP4 is bad (and if he is involved), while it may piss off JP fans, it won't change the fact he's made countless good movies.

Look at George Lucas...first off, he hasn't made that many movies to begin with, and many people think the prequel Star Wars trilogy sucked, but he still was involved with the original three, Indiana Jones, etc, so his credibility hasn't been ruined. Tarnished a bit, perhaps, but not ruined.

Steven over at Spielbergfilms.com has confirmed that the article is in fact true and Steven Spielberg did say these things. He also got a bit of newer information, its I guess, you can consider exclusive, since he was the first to get the info at all...Heres an excerpt from the article...

"SpielbergFilms learned just this evening that “Jurassic Park IV” still does not have a proposed release date and no date will be announced by Universal or Amblin “until they get the script and greenlight it” (this according to Amblin’s public relations rep Marvin Levy)."

Driveshaft's right about JP4 being potentially able to swing either way. But I'm hoping it won't be down

I agree with jediska, however I've heard this from a few other sources too so I have a glimmer of hope.

Spielberg also talked about Indy 4, so hopefully both will be happening soon. (altho from what he said, it sounds like Indy 4 will come before JP4...which is fine by me)

Regardless, if this film turns out to be crap, Spielberg will have lost all credibility IMO. I think JPIV could go either way; a flop or a huge success.

I hope it's mainland biker gangs. I hope they don't make it. Perhaps JP4 shall end with Raptors sneaking on board a shuttle about to lift off.

By the way, I'm not sure if AICN is even the original source, if I read correctly, it looks like Development Hell.com is the first to get it.

Why do you refuse to believe AICN? If memory serves right, they've had a nice, long track record of being reliable.

It's happening. If Spielberg says "is" he most likely means "The script is finished bitches, we're about to announce the greenlight!"
