Crichton intentionally chose the name 'Dennis Nedry' for the evil computer hacker in the JP book.. it is an anagram for 'Nerdy Sinned'. (From: 'ellersaur')

Dear God. There I was thinking the world couldn't be any stupider, and then I met juniorxxx.

Sam Neill is one of New Zealand and Australias top exports. His career in the past 5 years has been chaotic, with numerous tv roles, film roles, interviews, shows, etc, filling up his schedule more so than any other. And he makes intelligent films, particularly independant films, which as far as I'm concerned earns more respect than any Hollywood blockbuster.

If your dissapointed that Alan Grant wont be in JP4, than just say so. Your not the only one. But acting like a retard and denouncing one of Hollywoods most successful actors makes you look like your brains just shrunk. As far as I'm concerned, if I was worried a film I loved (Jurassic Park for example) was going to have a sequal that was bady written, I woudlnt return to it because I'd rather leave with good memories.
It's like if anyone asked me to work on any of their CG cartoons. Even though its work, I'd turn it down, because I'd rather be known for my good work, not bad ones.

    Hi.
First of all, sorry for my english (I´m from Spain).

Well, I want to say that JP still had the best CGI that I´ve seen, even in today´s movies.
Jp and TLW (I really loved this one).
Jp3 had great CGI, but for me, It was worst (more comparable with today´s good CGI movies).

Dilophosaurus don't stand a chance! But I guess they won't bring it back anyway, since there hasn't been any proof they really spit venom and JP is always trying to be scientifically correct (to some degree cause the Pteranodons don't really match that perspective)

I agree the rex/spino fight was good, I just wish it had been longer (and the rex had won).
I would also like to see A. a dilophosaurus in another JP movie and B. a dilophosaurus vs. a raptor.

I agree with you raptor2000 about the rex fence breakdown scene. That's classic! The best of the series! But I just said that some shots in the rex vs spino scene looked incredibly real, realer then anything else.

that scene is cool but i prefer the t-rex/trailer/rain sequence in TLW.

i think i whatched that scene over 37 times..

I still find the moment in JP where the T-rex breaks down the fence, steps on the barrier, and roars to be the most thrilling for me.
One of my favorite multiple dino scenes is not the t-rex vs. spino scene, but the scene in TLW where the two t-rexs come up on the humans sleeping and chases them into the raptor fields....but then again, maybe the t-rex vs. spino fight just isn't one of my favorites because the rex loses.

At 10:03:10 AM on 5/12/2005, Jaab said:
JP and TLW blended the cgi more with the models? That's thé thing Stan Winston was so happy about, the way cgi dino's interacted with robot dino's. There's definetly more blending of the two in JP3 (right?). And you find the parts with the models good in JP3, I thought that was the weak point in comparison with the previous films. Especially the Spino moves lika a... well like a robot. And even though I love JP1 (and a lot of movies coming out today don't even have cgi as good as that movie did) I would have to say that some cgi does look fake. Not terribly fake though, but still. Like when the raptors enter the kitchen and one takes a snap at the other, you can see it's cgi. But yeah, there's also cgi in JP3 looking less than perfect I suppose. But take the Rex vs Spino scene, some shots in that scene look absolutely thrillingly real to me, no JP1 or TLW shot can compete with that.

I think the special effects in JP3 were not as good as in TLW or even JP. I remember watching JP3 and at certain times seeing dinosaurs and thinking "wow, that looks fake." I can't remember ever having that thought with either of the previous two (and I watched both of them yesterday). Parts of it were good (mainly the parts that used models instead of CGI) but for the most part JP and TLW have JP3 beat on special effects....not necessarily in the fact they have more or less special effects, but in the way they use alot of models/robots and blend it seemlessly with the CGI.

At 10:20:51 AM on 5/9/2005, Jaab said:
TLW rules! ofcourse it's not that bad, but JP3 still makes me feel uncomfortable when I watch it. Only the sfx make it worth it.

    At 5:18:51 PM on 5/8/2005, raptor2000 said:
    I doubt that.

I just watched The Lost World for the millionth time, and since it's been a while since I've watched it, now I have to say it's really not all that bad. I wish they'd followed the book, but it's really not that bad. It has a few cheesy parts but every movie does, the only reason it's rated so badly was because the expectations were so high from the first one.
I still think 1 and 3 are better but it's not as bad as I remember it, and there's just something cool about two (well, three if you count the baby) t-rexs chasing people around and velociraptors chasing people thru the long grass.

They aren't postponing it, they just can't get it made...they can't find a story worth doing and/or they can't find anyone who wants to do it.

maybe theyre postponing (is that right?) JP4 because most of the fans are still sick of the JP Serie..

Well according to George Lucas, Spielburg is shooting Indy 4 next year, so if he is involved in JP4 then it is definately still a ways off.

Rove McManus is the host of Australia's most popular late night talk show "Rove Live".

Rove won the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV (for the third straight year). He also won the Logie for Most Popular Tv Presenter, and his show 'Rove Live' won Most Popular Entertainment Program.

On that note, Sam Neill won a Logie too! He won Most Outstanding Actor in a Mini-Series! That was for his role in the mini-series 'Jessica'.

That's a good point - but it was my understanding that everyone in JP3 was contractually obligated to come back in a JP4 if it ever happened.

I think they must have ask him if he wants to be in JP4 before they start writing the script. Because if they write a story with Grant and then Neill says he doesn't want to be part of it they'll have to write another.

Since Spielberg was so gung ho about JP4, before JP3 was even finished, I doubt he'd ever be disinterested. He'd take control and set it right on track. He's probably a bit too busy to worry about ti right now.

    >and the girl DAKOTA FANNING >what the americans see on >her that is SO >interesting??

Superior talent for a little kid? Talent not seen since the likes of Shirley Temple and Margaret O'Brien?

Go Rove! Whoever Rove even is.

Is there a specific link where I can see Neill's exact quote? My guess is that Neill simply hasn't been contacted about a JP4 in a long time, and so he assumes it isn't happening - Universal wouldn't necessarily keep him up-to-date on all the latest developments until they had a script they were happy with.

If you decide not to like Sam Neill just because he doesn't want to be in a shitty movie then......wow. You seriously need to reconsider your logic making skills...if you have any to begin with.

I HOPE THIS IS NOT FOR ME RAPTOR!!

I think you have that backwards...he doesn't want a crappy JP4 to ruin his career, cuz right now he is doing pretty well for himself.
And I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to be in a crappy movie either if I was globally known as a good actor. Perhaps if more and more actors refuse to be in crappy movies made solely for the purpose of making money - resulting in less people going to see those movies - then the makers of those movies will start to make movies worth appearing in.

If you decide not to like Sam Neill just because he doesn't want to be in a shitty movie then......wow. You seriously need to reconsider your logic making skills...if you have any to begin with.

If the character of Grant isn't going to be in JP4, then Sam wouldn't know if it's being made or not. Stan Winston recently confirmed that it is being made, so my guess is Grant won't be in it.
