Porter, I thought Hitchhiker was also really good, having never read any of the books.

And sadly enough my theater didn't screen the Serenity trailer either but I just checked it out, and it looks pretty sweet! Better than that stupid Disney movie Birds or whatever they're making.

Is it really only 2 weeks+ until Episode III? Amazing.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Jimmy? Haven't seen him round these parts since the tsunami post a while back.... and when he posted then, he was being- dare I say- nice. But yeh, I think there is a new champion of the ludicrous in our midst.

Saw Hitchhikers Guide today and really dug it, despite having never read the books. Not sure it's gonna be for everybody but I hope it does alright. Was a little dissappointed that the theatre I saw it at hadn't attached the Serenity trailer and opted for a trio of kiddie sports movie trailers about a lackluster coach and his team of misfits. Shoot me in the head.

Serenity trailer's online now for anyone interested. Everyone should check it out; it's pretty amazing despite its changes.

    Frank Miller's Sin City
    Batman Starts Anew
Hitchhiker's Guide to Proper Etiquette in the Galaxy
    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Harry Potter and that wacky Goblet of Fire
    Fantastic Four
    War of the Worlds
    Red Eye
    Peter Jackson's King Kong
    Rent
    And possibly Clerks 2

Suuure there's nothing good coming out this year.

Do you mean in the Jurassic Park franchise or in Hollywood this year?
If you mean in the Jurassic Park franchise, I think the first one was well done, and apparently an overwelming number of other people do as well. As for the other two - I agree - I like both but looking at the size of the budgets they both had and the ammount of talent they had both in front of and behind the camera, they both could have and should have been so much better.

If you mean Hollywood this year, I have to argue, I've seen plenty of decent to good movies this year.

    Junior, you're missing the point.

To have 4 BLOCKBUSTER films in a summer is damned good. Last summer probably had the same amount, but there's always the possibility of a sleeper movie to come out and kick everyone's ass.

There will be way more than 4 movies coming out this summer, so no, Hollywood is not failing.

bigoledork, it's called computers. And you don't need to go to Hollywood. Look at books, search on the Internet. There are many programs that let you do stuff on your computer, like morph on image into another. Granted it's a more limited version, but it's great practice for the big toys.

A weak summer for movies? What the hell are you talking about? You have 2 films that have been anticipated for at least 5 years (Batman & Epsiode III) PLUS War of the Worlds, Fantastic Four...

Last summer was weak. I, Robot and Spiderman 2 are the only ones I remember being worth the money. And Collateral.

If this summer looks weak to you, I suggest you commit yourself.

I feel releived Spielberg didn't like the previous scripts and will most likely not be made. So do we have someone else writing another draft at THIS moment? Anyway, I'm not waiting for JPIV anymore. If the real official news will start pouring in I might get a daily look at this page.

I kinda thought TLW was a bit boring at times. But the well known main problem is of course the end. If the end would've stayed the movie might've been better. But TLW made much more sense. In JP3 it just didn't have any sense why the dinasours attacked Grand and the rest of the "tourists". And I didn't find the dinosaurs presented as animals anymore but more like monsters again like in the 30's movies. But JP3 is a lot more fun to watch. It moves quikly. So I think TLW and JP3 ar rather equal. They both have their own weak points.

No...the hype before JP3 was alot bigger....maybe not as big as the hype before TLW but it was still big, but then again, since JP3 came out 4 years after TLW, there was alot more news at this point, and alot more stuff to get fans excited. Here we are, 4 years since JP3 came out, and all we have is rumours - and very few of those, at that - to go on. I imagine when it is actually confirmed this movie is being made and official news starts pouring in, the hype will kick back up.

I don't get it. I loved TLW and still do. Maybe just because I was a kid that would go bezerk on anything with dinosaurs in it at the time it came out. But still I think it has a better story line than JP3. Anyway, I've just thought of a fun thing for Operation Genesis. I made an enclosure with 5 cleaning stations in it and the maximum amount of cleaners. Then outside the enclosure I built a sweet little park. I put a few viewing vents in the fence so that visitors could go see the cleaners. Then (drum roll) I put a hatchery in the enclosure. Enter two T-Rexes and it's fun for the entire family. No really, people enjoy it alot, they go like oooh and aaah. (but then again, that's how it always starts). Just keep hiring new cleaners. Visitors don't like cruelty to dinosaurs but they love to see the staff get eaten. Try it, it's alot of fun.

The carnivores are the only ones to attack the humans because they are (usually) the only ones who have a reason to. Carnivores will attack when threatened OR when hungry, whereas herbivores will only attack when threatened, which they have done several times....for example, the stegosaurs attack Sarah when they think she is threatening the baby stego, and the parasaur attacks the hunters jeep when they are being chased, and all the herbivores attack the hunter camp after they are freed by Nick and Sarah after they are captured because they still feel threatened. Otherwise though, they have no reason to attack.

I thought JP3 was way better than the lost world up until now. Now i've rethought it, and lost world is better. Or maybe it isn't. GOD I"M SO TORN!!
Anyway I'll bet us geeks could come up with a good sequel idea.
Like a big ass group of like fifteen raptors chasing a jeep through a giant grassland. Then we could finally see them get up to cheetah speed. Man dat shite would RAWK!
And like 'nature's balance' would totally be off on the island since there's so many meat eaters, so all the meat eaters are starving and desperate to eat anything.
Also an apatosaur using it's tail like a whip (like science dudez say it do) and whipping some evil genetic engineer guy.
How come the carnovores are the only dinos that get to attack people in these movies?
Now all we need is some sort of sciency theme to tie it up and make it coherent.
