The voice over in a trailer for JP3 said "New Adventures, New Island...." despite the fact the island in JP3 is not new -- we visited Sorna in TLW.

Maybe they'll just edit a couple of Turner's jungle scenes from Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas out of that movie and stick them in Jp3! Ha.
Anyway-I think Spielburg IS sticking with too many big names. I mean-heck-just because they all haven't been in HUGE blockbusters, doesn't mean they're not known. Especially with the older audience. Big (even familiar) names raise higher expectations. And some of you guys are screaming for more Goldblum---he's bigger than ALL these guys right now. Of coarse-bringing him back after the second one just means repitition. And are there gonna be any roles in this film other than scientists, enthusiastic kids, and buisiness men? I think now they just stick people in a movie to fill space.

Thanks Utahraptor, I'm glad someone caught that. I wonder how "oddball" Macy's character will be. So far he sounds like another standard neglectful dad who spends to much time at work, yatta yatta, but really loves his kid, blah blah blah and in the end comes through for him, ect, ect, ect. teary "I love you, Dad" embrace, fade to black and roll credits. Then we wait for Dan’s JP4 site to open.

Nice Mark Twain quote, Pol. Maybe Macy can defend Miles with a shovel? Nah! Since Crichton isn't writting this, there's no need for Malcolm, really. Depsite unanimaous priase for Goldblum's portrayal, Malcolm sin't the msot popular character among fandom. Much like the Stego was, and hence was included in TLW.

At 12:07:35 AM on 8/15/2000, GoldblumRules said:
I dig Macy's work. He should be a welcome oddball to the story, especially considering the fact that Malcolm will not have a pivotal part in the film. We need oddballs in this series for it to work; Sam Neill is good at keeping it realistic and grounded, but we need that humorous addition to the cast as well. I will admit Trevor Morgan does not look like the kind of guy I'd give a part to for JP3, but the kid's got to have talent if Spielberg and Johnston cast him, and looks aren't everything.

Ack, whatever, I was haveing a bad day yesterday, I am sorry for what happened, and I was not that very mad, I just hate when people correct me on spelling. On lighter note(s) The film is going to be a blockbuster hit? I suppose people are going to go see for the first two, most people go see the third movie in the series, because they want to see how it turns up how to be. Or they want to see the special effects.

At 3:48:48 AM on 8/14/2000, Utahraptor said:
Chapter_11, why is it you can insult Trevor, but get mad when someone insults you?
as for spelling, look at all the text editors out there. How many have Spell Checkers? Now imagine if all of them stopped working. Now you see why they all have one. If Dan could put up a spell checker in here, things would be better. As long as it's not the cheap one that lists the misspelled words at top, and makes you try and find them yourself.

Chapter 11, now that you've hopefully cooled off, maybe we can back to business and talk about the movie. We aren't supposed to take things personally here, that is my point, and if I have a different opinion than you or anyone else, I will voice that, and if I have a suggestion to make (or a spelling correction- not rude, helpful) I will make it.

And normally someone without an "ego" (which I never accused you of having, btw) won't tell someone else: "GolbblumRules is not my teacher, or my father or mother, what gives him the right to tell me how to spell."

Yeah, if we said something about everyones spelling on THIS page, I'm sure we would just have boards of corrections.

I think that is rude of you to correct me on my spelling. I think that is very stupid of you to insult me in front of others..... You could have e-mailed me to tell me this. This is not the first time people misspell things. I don't hate the movie, I think the Jurassic Park series are some of the best movies ever made, and I only take a total of 10 minutes of my day to SHARE my opinion. If you don't like what I have to say, I don't have an "ego" and don't tell me what I can and can't do.....

Chapter 11: you spell it "defense." And no, I'm not exactly in defense of anyone here, but I think it would be of benefit to you if you just considered for a moment how ridiculous it is to get angry about the casting. One, because there is nothing we can do about it, and two, because it would benefit us all if we put our egos to rest and trusted that Joe Johnston and Steven Spielberg know who's right for the movie. They are NOT concerned about signing big actors here, they're concerned about getting the right ones for the parts, just like the first two. Tea Leoni is in the same league as Julianne Moore was before TLW, and I think we know so little about Morgan that we shouldn't be so quick to judge. I mean, you're starting to hate this movie a whole year before it comes out! Wait until you see it, or get off this board and do something better with your time.

I was saying these kind of actors are not right for th movie. They picked some prisy kid, who is loud and annoying, and I doubt that he would be a heart warming, kid, trying to help people in the movie. This kid, I consider a big time actor, because he was in TWO blockbuster hits. Even though he did not have a big part. This kid just wants an action figure, and, GolddblumRules, are you in defence of this kid? Or the other pretty acttress? Yes they are small, but the play small roles. I would rather see them in a soap opra, than an action movie with blood and dinosaurs.

JP movies always have semi-big actors. I mean you have heard of them just don't know them. Who here didn't know Julianne Moore or Richard Schiff before TLW? You should get out more if you answered no :)

JP would have had big name actors if they had more money. It was the reason for the lesser knowns being chosen. No, with two big movies without big name stars, you know the'll repeat for ure. It seems to work. Turne rs suppsoedly Hammon's daughter. She will o be Dodgsons wie, nor would thebe revenge for a guy not getting emroys. TLWBook is a whole other universe from the movie. Which is why he most likely will not be in it. He, he ony goto go in TLW Book because his boss wanted to finally shut im up on the whole cloned dino thing. It was his last chance.

At 11:17:55 PM on 8/12/2000, GoldblumRules said:
Chapter 11, just who do you think is a big name actor in the JP3 cast? Kathleen Turner hasn't had a big film since the 80s, Sam Neill's biggest hit since JP1 was a supporting part in Bicentennial Man, William H. Macy is best known to independent film fans and is by no means a bigtime marquee actor, Trevor Morgan was credited FIFTH in The Sixth Sense.... Better recheck that "big actors in JP3" analogy...

At 2:30:03 PM on 8/12/2000, Pricyber said:
I agree, Chapter_11. The original movie didn't have big named actors and it still made a great movie. It is the story that the producers should be worrying about, especially if Chricton didn't make a novel about it. Then they have to come up with the whole story and concept themselves. I would hate to have this turn out to be a Star Wars Episode 1. Good actors (aside from Anakin-kid), but crappy dialogue and plotlines.

    At 12:20:30 PM on 8/12/2000, Chapter_11 said:
I say stop with the big time actors. They just need a good story, with good acting to back it up. I doesn't matter if they are big time actors, Only two of the actors they picked are right for the movie. some of these prisy people are good actors in chick flicks, and in comadies, but not in Jurassic Park.

I dunno.. Turner looks liek she has what it takes to be the new head of Ingen.. I mean, the last guy died, and maybe she's his wife. It could happen, I just see lots of her in a business suit. Maybe she's Dod's wife, and he was supposed to have been killed in TLW according to the book, no? I don't think Mr. C would bring him back as a major character, but might let his wife want some sort of maniacle revenge against ingen, no?
